Chapter 97

December 25, 2005

"Ready to go?" I asked everyone and they all nodded their heads. "Perfect. Let's go!"

Angeline, Griffin, Ashton, Corey, and I all got into the car and drove to Scarlett's house. Corey dropped off his kids, then we drove to my mom's house. 

I remembered how last Christmas Corey got me 'Slipknot' tickets. I wasn't able to make it, so he gave the tickets to one of his friends he knew. He was very upset, but he understood. 

When we arrived, Ashton ran inside of the house and I smiled at him. Corey grabbed my hand and we walked inside. 

"I need to go to the bathroom," He whispered in my ear. 

"Then go."

"No, I don't know where it's at."

I rolled my eyes, grabbed his hand, and showed him where the bathroom was, then walked back downstairs. 

"Hi, Mom!" I hugged her. "Merry Christmas!"

"Where's Corey?"

"Wow."

"What?"

"Nothing, you just basically ignored me."

"Where's Corey?"

"Going to the bathroom."

"Merry Christmas, Adette."

"Ashton!" I shout. 

"What?" He runs up to me. 

"Be careful."

I walked over to my mom and that was when Keanu walked up to us. 

"Hi," I smiled. 

He pulled me in for a hug. "Merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas."

"Who's that?" Ashton asked. 

"That's Grandma's boyfriend," I replied. 

"Oh, okay."

He giggled, than ran off. 

"Richard's coming," My mom told me. 

"He is?!"

"Yes."

"Yay!" I smiled widely and couldn't stop. 

As I saw Corey walking down the stairs, I ran over to him and hugged him. 

"Is everything alright?" He asked. "Why are you giving me a hug?"

"Everything's just fine,"  I hugged him tighter. 

"I don't like affections!"

"I don't like you!"

"I get that a lot."

I playfully slapped him. 

"'Nightmare Before Christmas'," Keanu said, eyeing Corey's beanie. 

"Great movie," Corey nodded his head. 

"We should show that to Ash tonight-he might like it."

"That's too creepy," My mom said. 

"We're doing it," I smiled. "Want a drink, Corey?"

"Um, sure. Could I just get a water?"

I got him a glass of water, then handed it to him. 

"So, how have you two been?" My mom asked us. 

"Splendid," Corey replied. 

"There was a picture in the magazine of you two in a park or whatever and Adette was hugging you, but she was crying."

"That was when he came back from tour," I explained. "And when I told him I loved him, and he said he loved me too."

"Wow, you two love each other?" My mom asked. 

"Yeah," Corey replied. 

"Do people know you're the singer of 'Slipknot'?"

"The-"

"HOLD UP!" Keanu shouted. 

My eyes widened and I had trouble breathing. It was a very sudden yell, but I was able to calm myself down. 

"You're the singer of 'Slipknot'?" Keanu asked Corey. 

"Yep," He replied. 

I couldn't stop smiling. I was the only girl in the world allowed to say, 'Yeah, I'm dating the singer of 'Slipknot'.'

"Lucky girl."

"You are very lucky," Corey wrapped an arm around my shoulder and that was when the doorbell rang. 

I let go of Corey and ran to it. I opened up the door and saw my dad standing there. I shrieked and hugged him. 

"Merry Christmas!" I told him. 

"Merry Christmas," He chuckled. "Why are you so happy?"

"Am I not allowed to hug my dad? I just miss you. Ashton!"

He walked over to us, saw my dad, then hugged him. My dad walked into the kitchen and I could tell that it was very tense. 

My mom's current boyfriend was meeting her ex-boyfriend. 

"Keanu, this is Richard-Adette's dad," She awkwardly introduced them. 

"Mommy, I want to go outside," Ashton told me. 

"Then let's go," I grabbed his hand and walked into the backyard. 

"Mommy, let's play hide-and-seek!" Ashton shouted. 

"I'm not good at that game," I replied. 

"She's just not very good at it," Corey winked at Ashton. 

"I am a god at hide-and-seek."

"Make up your mind, woman."

"I'll count and you guys hide," I turned into the wall and counted to thirty. 

There was a lot of room to hide in the backyard-considering my mom owned a mansion-so it would be sort of difficult. 

I looked in the tool shed my mom had and I could see Ashton hiding in a corner. I was going to let him win, so I shut the door and continued to look around. 

I peered around a corner and Corey screamed, "Boo!"

I gasped and chuckled. "Jesus Christ. Corey!"

"Got you," He smirked. 

"Ashton!" I shouted. "Where are you?!"

"I'm in here!" He giggled uncontrollably. 

I opened up the tool shed and gasped as I saw him. 

"Ashton, I thought I lost you!" I ran to him. 

"Mommy, you can never loose me," He said. "I'll always be right here."

My heart broke. I couldn't even do anything, but hug him. 

"I love you," I told him. 

"I love you too, Mommy."

We all finished opening up their presents except for me-I had one more left and it was from Corey. 

"Here you go," He handed me an envelope. 

I opened it up and gasped. "Germany?!"

He smiled. "Yeah."

"We're going to Germany?!"

"I know how you wanted to, so-"

I threw my arms around him and chuckled. "Thank you so much, Corey."

I kissed him and he smiled. 

"Of course."
