Title: ⚡Lifeboat⚡
Who was she? She was everything to them. She was their rock, she was the one who dealt with all their bruises, whether it be the physical or mental bruises, she was there for them. She didn't need to say a word, nor did they, she just knew what they needed.
"Fuck!" Sweet Pea growled as he slammed opened the door to the Whyte Wyrm, the Serpent hangout, also known as Y/n's bar. Yes, her father owned the bar.
"Piss off!" he yelled as another Serpent tried to speak to him. There was only one person who could help him, one person he wanted to see. The moment his eyes met hers, he somewhat calmed down.
Y/n moved her head to the side, motioning towards one of the backrooms, a place both had been to many times. Sweet Pea stormed into the room, Y/n following behind him. The moment the door was shut, Sweet Pea began to vent. He released all his stress, his frustrations, occasionally hitting the punching bag that was in the room, something Y/n put in there to help the younger Serpents.
Sweet Pea felt calmer as he sat on the floor, tapping the spot next to him. Y/n took the hint, sitting next to him and allowing him to pull her into a hug. He placed a kiss on her head. "You're perfect, you know that, right?" he whispered. "I honestly don't know what I'd do without you."
Y/n said nothing, allowing the boy to mutter words she would never believe. Nobody knew the pressure she was constantly under, the strain it took on her taking on everybody's problems, nobody being there for her. She was their lifeboat, stopping them from drowning, all while she continued to sink.

The merger of Riverdale and Southside High complicated things. Students were dating each other, Fangs and Kevin, Sweet Pea and Josie, Toni and Cheryl. Slowly, Y/n was pushed to the side. She was expecting it, she was only there when they needed to vent. She had no true friends.
The months went on, the Serpents and Bulldogs became friends, minus G&G and everything was great for all, apart from Y/n. She felt her life falling apart and as always, she was alone.
Heathers musical was the turning point for everybody, it was the moment they would see the truth, the hurt behind her eyes. She watched the auditions from the audience, desperately wanting to try-out, but knowing she wasn't a main character, she was just a background actor in Riverdale.
The moment the auditorium was empty and had been for twenty minutes, she made her way to the stage, as she began to sing.
I float in a boat, In a raging black ocean
Low in the water, And nowhere to go
The tiniest lifeboat, With people I know
She began to rub her hand, the Serpent tattoo with the heart next to it being her comfort. She may not have felt like part of the Serpents anymore, but she was one.
Cold, clammy, and crowded, The people smell desperate
We'll sink any minute, So someone must go
The tiniest lifeboat, With people I know
It was at that moment, the tears began to fall down her face. She was broken, after over a year she had finally broken down. She was always there for everybody else, yet nobody was there for her, not even when her father died, she had nobody's help, nobody's support, not even her own mother.
Everyone's pushing, Everyone's fighting
Storms are approaching, There's nowhere to hide
If I say the wrong thing, Or I wear the wrong outfit
They'll throw me right over the side
Sweet Pea had entered the auditorium, still angry at the fact Josie had rejected him. He wanted to cool off, he wasn't expecting anyone to be there, they were all busy with their own lives. It was then he noticed the girl singing on stage, the girl who had helped him through all the difficult moments in his life, minus the Josie situation.
How did he forget about her? How could everybody forget about the beautiful girl? The girl with a heart of gold, who was always there for everybody, no matter the time, no matter the circumstance. She had helped him after he joined the Serpents. She had patched him up more times than he could count, yet she was pushed away, unintentionally, but still pushed aside.
I'm hugging my knees, And the captain is pointing
Well, who made her captain?, Still, the weakest must go
The tiniest lifeboat, Full of people I know
The tiniest lifeboat, Full of people I know
The moment she stopped singing, she felt arms wrap around her, pulling her into a familiar hug. She recognised him straight away, from his familiar scent, the light smell of weed and cheap, yet nice spray.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I'm sorry we- I wasn't there for you. I'm sorry we pushed you away. You didn't deserve it, we don't deserve you, you deserve everything. You deserve the fucking world. You're perfect. You're so fucking perfect."
It was them words that made her begin to cry. It was the first, and not the last time, Sweet Pea would hold her as she cried. It was the moment their friendship became unbreakable. It was the moment they both would never let anything come between them again, not distance, not time, not people. They were Sweet Pea and Y/n, best friends until the end.
