"Kid? You in there?" Peter heard Tony ask. Peter sighed, standing up and unlocking his door.

"Hey, Mr. Stark." He said quietly.

"What did I say about that Mr. Stark stuff, hmm?" Tony asked. "Is everything alright?"

"I've just been thinking about things." Peter mumbled, walking back over to his bed.

"Any specific things?" Tony asked, following him in.

"...I don't wanna talk about it." Peter murmured, looking away from Tony.

"C'mon, kid. You know you can talk to me." Tony smiled gently. "I just want to know what's on your mind."

"I-I just--" Peter pursed his lips. "Everything is always my fault."

"What do you mean?" Tony asked.

"Ben, May, the whole Mysterio incident." Peter shrugged, laughing bitterly. "All my fault."

"What happened to May and Ben weren't your fault, Peter." Tony mumbled. "And Mysterio manipulated you, it's not your fault."

"But maybe if I was just a bit stronger--" Peter bit his lip. "I-I dunno, Mr. Stark. It just feels like I could've done more."

"You can't keep living in the past," Tony said. "you have to work to protect the future."

"But the past shaped who I am today," Peter sat down on his bed. "I can't just ignore it."

"I'm not saying you should ignore it." Tony said softly. "Of course, we need to respect the past. But if you stay in it, you won't shape your future."

"I-I don't know if I'm strong enough to move foward."

"I've felt that before too, y'know?" Tony sat down next to Peter. "That feeling that everything is always my fault, that no matter what I do I'll mess it up." He smiled sadly.

"Does it ever go away?" Peter asked.

"No, it doesn't." Tony shook his head. "But for me, I just realized that I can't let it hold me back. I'll always feel like I'm not good enough, but that doesn't mean I can't strive to be better."

"Mr. Stark..."

"So buck up, okay?" Tony ruffled Peter's hair. "The truth is that you're so much stronger than your scars, kid."

"How do you do it, Mr. Stark?" Peter asked. Tony chuckled.

"I had Pepper by my side the entire time, she reminded me that there are people who care for me out there. And you have that girl, MJ, she's the one for you, Peter."

"You're my hero, Mr. Stark." Peter sobbed quietly. "You're my hero."

"Well duh, I'm everyone's hero." Tony smirked playfully, wiping some of the tears from Peter's eyes.. His expression changed into a soft smile, a far away look in his eyes. "You're waking up now, Underoos."

"I'm not ready yet!" Peter shook his head. Tony pulled Peter in for a hug. "I don't want to say goodbye yet, Mr. Stark! There's still so much I want to say to you!"

"I know, kid. I know." Tony mumbled. Peter sobbed into Tony's shoulder, tightening his hold.

"Please don't go, Mr. Stark. I can't do this without you." Peter whispered. Tony chuckled and pulled away.

"Sure you can, kid. I believe in you." Tony stood up, walking to the door.

"Tony..." Peter cried, reaching out for him.

"You got this, Pete." Tony smiled gently.

"I--" Peter began. "I'll make you proud, Mr. Stark!" He nodded firmly. Tony laughed.

"I know you will." Tony's eyes were glassy, but a smile was on his face. "Go get 'em."

And Peter woke up.
