I had just stepped back inside after going on a short walk in the yard, my now empty coffee mug in hand. I don't normally get up early, but today was different. I woke up feeling wide awake and craving a cup of coffee. Once I made the coffee, I noticed how beautiful it was outside so I slid on my sandals I keep by the door and went for a little walk around the house and yard until I finished my coffee.

I rinsed my mug out in the sink and placed it in the dishwasher, careful not to wake up my sleeping boyfriend down the hallway.
The faint sound of bare feet shuffling sleepily across the hardwood resonated through the quiet house. I turned my attention to the sounds and saw a drowsy Namjoon standing at the entrance of the kitchen. His light brown hair was sticking out in every direction, his eyes slightly puffy from sleep. His bare chest and buff arms were on full display, the only clothes on his body were his black basketball shorts.
"Morning, babe." He greeted, his voice much deeper than usual.
He blinked a couple times, a sleepy smile on his face as he shuffled over to me, his head dropping in the crook of my neck. I could feel him inhale a bit.
"Hmm. You smell like coffee and the outdoors." He commented.
"You and your sense of smell." I chuckled.
"I like this smell." He hummed, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close to him. "Morning dew, freshly cut grass, pine trees."
"I took a walk around the yard." I told him.
"I know."
"Of course you do." I smiled, knowing his heightened senses could pick up any sound or scent.
"Baby, you know the full moon is coming up, right?"
"Yeah." I answered softly.
"You know how I get." He muttered.
"I do."

Whenever it gets close to a full moon, Namjoon starts getting a bit on edge. His temper is shorter and he's more prone to accidentally shifting if he gets too riled up. He can't help it, that's when his wolf side is strongest and it's much harder to control.
It's not as bad as it seems, but it's also not something I enjoy dealing with. Normally, I just try to keep him calm and leave him alone if I can see that he's getting agitated and that seems to work just fine. As for the night of the full moon, he usually stays locked in the guest room.

"If I say anything to hurt your feelings, I'm sorry in advance." He apologized.
"There's no need to apologize. You've never said anything hateful to me."
"I know, but just in case I do, I'm sorry."
I let out a short sight, a smile tugging at my lips. "You're too sweet, Joon."
He chuckled lightly, his breath tickling my neck. "I just care about you a lot."

The full moon was three days away, which is usually when Namjoon starts to get a bit on edge. It's nothing too serious, he just gets agitated when things don't go his way.

I heard him let out a short growl before slamming the refrigerator door. I jumped off the couch and hurried into the kitchen after hearing the loud noise.
"Hey. What's wrong?"
"I can't find that package of pork belly." He huffed.
"Joon, we made that for dinner a few nights ago. We don't have anymore."
"Great." He huffed.
"Hey." I rubbed his back. "I can go buy some, or we can order some."
Namjoon let out a deep breath, coming back to his senses. "Yeah. We can just do that. Sorry for getting snappy."
"It's fine." I placed my hand on his cheek, giving him a sympathetic smile. "So, which would you prefer? Go pick some up at the store or get some delivered?"
"Let's just do delivery. It's easier that way."

Namjoon was very happy when the pork belly arrived. He had also ordered a few side dishes to go with it.
"This hits the spot." He sighed contently as he chewed his food. "The sauce on it is so good. You should have some."
He picked up a piece and fed it to me.
"Ooh. That's delicious. I wish we could make something similar to that."
"We can. Though, I think the way you make pork belly is just fine." He grinned, giving me a wink.
