I sat in a restaurant in Myeongdong, enjoying the warm atmosphere and the scent of delicious Korean cuisine in the air. It's my first time visiting Seoul and the overall ambiance is so different from where I'm from. The city is vibrant and the stores all look so unique, not to mention the incredibly talented buskers that come out and cover K-pop songs. It's such a lovely and beautiful city with lots of personality and I cannot wait to explore more of it.

The door to the establishment swung open and a pale, dark-haired man walked in. He wore a casual outfit consisting of a large sweater and skinny jeans. Normally, I wouldn't give a second glance to someone like this, but this guy is different. It's like I can't take my eyes off him; he's so good-looking.
I watched as he was led to a table near mine by a hostess. He took a seat as the hostess walked away, leaving him to browse the menu.

I tore my eyes away from him and turned my attention to the decorations in the restaurant. I tried my best not to stare at the insanely stunning man just feet from me, but truthfully, I had never seen anyone as handsome as him before.
I stole a few glances at him, but it wasn't enough. Thankfully, a waitress approached my table with my order. I was thankful that she came when she did, as I now had a distraction—food. She placed the main dish in front of me first, then the little side dishes. I thanked her as she walked away, taking a moment to admire the food in front of me before I absolutely devoured it.
This is one of the many things I had been looking forward to while visiting Korea—the food. I had seen so many videos online of the many different foods served here.
I've only been here for one day, so I haven't gotten to try much. I did try some street food including a fish-shaped pastry filled with sweet red bean paste called bungeoppang and one of those Korean corn dogs. Today, I'm finally getting the opportunity to have some delicious traditional Korean food.
I snapped a nice photo, wanting to document my trip and maybe even make a little scrapbook page about it.
Grabbing my chopsticks, I started to dig in, taking my first bite.
My eyes widened as the flavors exploded on my tastebuds. The food was absolutely delicious and nothing like the dishes back home.
I must have looked rather surprised, as my reaction seemed to earn a chuckle from the man seated at the table beside me.
I turned my head, giving him a quick glance.

"Sorry." He spoke in English, his accent prominent. "You're a foreigner?"
I nodded.
I could tell he wanted to say something, but didn't know how. Neither did I.
My Korean is very limited—so limited, in fact, that I try not to engage in conversations with people. However, it's not every day the cute guy you were staring at strikes up a conversation with you.
"Sorry. My English is not good." He told me.
"Neither is my Korean." I added with a chuckle.
He sat for a moment, trying to figure out exactly what I had just said.
"Ah." He nodded, with a laugh. "Where are you from?"
Thankfully, this was something I could answer, as I knew the name of my country in Korean.
"Italy." I answered.
"Ah." He nodded. "Do you like Korea?" He asked, his English slightly broken, but I could understand him just fine.
I smiled, nodding. "I like it." I answered in Korean. "Even though I've only been here for one day." I said the last part in English, which he didn't seem to understand.
His brows furrowed a bit, sitting for a moment to figure out what I said. He then held up his index finger, pulling his phone out. He handed it to me, a translation app pulled up on the screen.
I typed out what I had just said and handed the phone back to him. He read what was on the screen.
"Oh!" He nodded, typing.
He handed the phone to me and I read the screen.
Only one day and you already like it here? Amazing. How long are you staying?
I typed a response, answering that I would be here for a week.
