The requester asked to remain anonymous

*two years ago*

The atmosphere in the hybrid adoption center was pleasant. I had imagined some hospital or lablike place that smelled of rubbing alcohol, this pace was anything but.
I approached the front desk where a kind lady helped me out, escorting me into an area in the back where the hybrids were kept in their own little rooms.
She took me down the hallway and allowed me to peer into each room while she told me about the hybrids occupying each one. I was surprised to see that the rooms the hybrids stayed in were rather nice. They were small and seemed to only have room for a bed, a small nightstand and a couple other pieces of small furniture, but despite that, they were cozy-looking.
We approached a door at the end of the hallway. I peered inside, seeing a blonde-haired boy sitting on the floor against the wall. His head was down, but I could still see pale pink colored scales on his upper cheekbones.
I was instantly intrigued by him.
"Alright. Well, I guess we should head back out front, hm?" The adoption lady seemed to not pay any mind to this hybrid.
"What about him?" I asked, gesturing to the room with my chin, keeping my eyes fixed on the boy.
"Him?"
I nodded.
"That's Jimin. He's a snake hybrid."
"A snake." I raised my brows.
That would explain the scales.
"Why were you gonna skip over him?" I questioned, looking over at her.
"I didn't mean any harm by it, it's just that..." She trailed off, appearing to be searching for the right words. "No one wants him."
My brows pulled together.
"People don't really like snake hybrids. They're sometimes feral."
The boy in the room looked nothing like a feral hybrid. He looked sad.
"He doesn't look threatening."
"He's not. But, some people are just wary."
"I'm not. I wanna adopt him." I told her straightforwardly.
Her brows raised, astonished by my boldness.
"Ah. Okay, then. Follow me and we'll get the paperwork sorted out."
I nodded and followed her back to the front desk. As I filled out paperwork, images of Jimin flashed in my mind. I can't understand why no one wants him. I saw him and was immediately interested.

I handed the papers to the lady and she went to the back where the hybrids stayed. No more than two minutes later, she returned with Jimin following behind. I noticed a small duffel bag in his hand as he shuffled over to me, his head still down.
"Hello." I greeted him, keeping my voice soft and quiet.
He lifted his head to look at me, his eyes were bright, irises a vibrant yellow color that was quite visible, despite his soft blonde bangs hanging in front of them. It was no surprise seeing his pupils were just slits. Framing his large eyes were pale pink scales that glimmered when they caught in the light. My eyes trailed down to his exposed collarbones that also seemed to have a few scales scattered about them.
"Hi." He returned the greeting, his voice soft and airy. "Are you adopting me?"
"Actually, I already have. Just a few minutes ago."
His eyes seemed to sparkle hearing that.
"I'm Y/n." I introduced myself.
"I'm Jimin." He smiled brightly, showing off tiny fangs on his top and bottom teeth.
I'd only just met this hybrid and he was making my heart swell with adoration already.
"It's nice to meet you, Jimin. Should I go and show you your new home?"
He nodded, excitedly.
I gave a small wave to the lady who had been watching the both of us with a fond look as Jimin and I left the adoption center and headed home.

The look on Jimin's face when I showed him his own room almost brought tears to my eyes.
"This is mine?" He asked, softly. His voice barely above a whisper.
"Yes."
He placed his bag down and embraced me in a hug. I smiled and reached my hand up to rest on his head.
"Thank you." He murmured.

Later that night, I asked Jimin if he would like to take a shower to which he quickly agreed. I gave him a few moments to prepare while I laid out towels for him.
When he didn't come to the bathroom, I got a little worried, going to his room to check on him. What I saw left me breathless.
Jimin had his shirt in his hands, looking in the mirror at his reflection. The pinkish scales that framed his face and dotted his collarbones were also on his shoulders and went down his spine.
I hadn't meant to stare, but he was so beautiful. I couldn't seem to look away.
