Jin watched from his spot on the moon, looking down at the world below him. He was the moon god and his job was to bring the moon up every night and lower it every sunrise, moving it around the earth, all the while sitting on his little perch and watching over everything. His favorite place to observe was the garden of the fairy kingdom, which is where you resided. It got rather boring sitting up in space all night with nothing to do, until he found you, that is. Ever since then Jin would always watch you and your kingdom, admiring you as you took midnight walks out in the garden, your wings shimmering in the moonlight that he provided.

Since he was the moon god, he had incredible and inhuman eyesight that let him see things as if he were standing amidst it. Though that ability was convenient, it wasn't the same thing as if he were able to see you in person. Oh, how he longed to see you up close, to be in your presence. To reach out and touch you, to feel your soft skin under his fingertips.

It was around midnight and everyone in the kingdom was either asleep or preparing to settle in for the night. You, however, decided to have a late night swim in the lake sitting behind the castle. You held the sheer coverup close to your body as you made your way to the lake, stopping just outside the edge. The full moon cast its beam across the water, the gentle breeze blowing the surface causing the reflection to disperse and distort. You dipped your toe in the water that had been warmed all day by the sun, your coverup sliding off your form and revealing your swimwear underneath.
Easing yourself into the dark waters, you allowed the warmth to surround you, enveloping you in its comfort while bringing relief to your tense muscles. You stretched your arms out and swam further in, relishing in the feeling of the waters caressing your body.
You turned around and resorted to floating on your back so you could stare up at the twinkling stars that dotted the immense and vast space above. You floated with your arms outstretched, unknowingly under the watchful gaze of Jin.

Perched in his usual spot, the moon god gazed down at your form floating right in the reflection of the moon, hovering perfectly in the center of it. His heart leapt at the sight of you, looking so delicate and ethereal, suspended in the clear waters, floating along without a care in the world. He was entranced by the way your wings glistened even when submerged in water, their transparent (f/c) hue showing through the dark waters, perhaps even glowing a bit. He didn't even know your name, yet you had captured his heart, completely unaware that you held it in your palm.

You released a sigh and opened your eyes to find the moon hanging directly above you, entrancing you with its brilliance. You didn't always go out for a late-night swim, but on the occasion that you did, you would float on your back and stare up at the stars just as you were currently doing.
Running a kingdom was difficult, especially alone, so you relished in moments of peace like this. No decisions, no stresses, no chaos, no castle staff asking endless questions, just you and the stars. Despite the stresses that came with your regal title, being the queen wasn't always a pain. More often than not, it was rewarding. Any time you left the castle and roamed the streets of the kingdom, the citizens would greet you with bright smiles and sometimes stop you to shower you in praises and thank you for all the work you do. Seeing how the decisions you make effect your people in a positive way is a huge reward in and of itself.

After floating about for roughly half an hour, you decided to turn in for the night, making your way back to the grassy land.
Jin watched you retreat from the water, his heart sinking just the slightest bit knowing you were going back inside where he could only catch glimpses of you as you passed by windows.
"Until tomorrow, my queen." He sighed.
