You tugged at the black skirt you wore as you stepped into the massive Hybe building feeling nervous as ever. You felt out of place in a building that housed so many well-known Kpop groups.

"Loosen up, you look stiff." Jessi told you, walking over to the elevators.
You were good friends with her and when she got invited to J-Hope's Jack In The Box album release party, she asked you to tag along as her plus-one.
"I'm nervous." You responded.
"Don't be. You look hot."
"But I'm a nobody."
"You're friends with me, you're not a nobody." She chuckled, stepping into the elevator and pressing 19.
"I guess." You murmured.
While the idea of attending this event sounded fun, being here you now realize it's not. In fact, you're kind of dreading it. You're sure Jessi will go in and start socializing with everyone right off the bat. Meanwhile, you'll be left to stand in the corner and disassociate.

As soon as the elevator doors slid open, you heard the music booming and you hadn't even arrived to the event yet. Jessi stepped out of the elevator and you trailed behind, going down the hallway to a door where the music seemed to be coming from. The glass on the door was frosted, but the party lights from inside the room could still be seen, illuminating the cloudy finish in multicolored tie dye. You were at the right place.
A staff member stood by the entrance with an iPad in hand. Jessi gave the man her invite to prove she had been asked to come to the party. The staff member gave it a brief glance before handing it back.

"Alright, Y/n. Let's get this party started." Jessi said enthusiastically as she pushed the door open, the music becoming much louder now that there wasn't something to muffle it.
Upon stepping inside, you're met with a room full of people and bright, variegated strobe lights flashing, illuminating the room with each beat.
Jessi waved confidently to different celebrity figures attending the event, flashing a bright and optimistic smile while you trailed behind her feeling very much out of place.
On one hand, you were honored to be attending an event as big as this, but on the other, you didn't feel like you belonged there.
"You wanna get something to drink?" Jessi asked you, gesturing to the bar situated at the far end of the room.
"Sure." You nodded.
At least that way you would have something in your hand instead of standing awkwardly, fiddling with your fingers.
You trailed behind her through the crowd of well-known singers and actors until you made it to the bar ordering yourself a drink.
"Man this place is packed." Jessi noted aloud while the bartender did his thing mixing drinks.
"Yeah. It's pretty crowded." You commented, spotting Namjoon in the corner chatting it up with some partygoers.
The man of the hour stood on a stage situated at the front of the room, the crowd cheering as he recorded a video for his social media, his song Hope World playing loudly through the speakers. Even from where you stood at the bar you could visibly see Hoseok's bright features. He was practically glowing, drawing everyone's attention to him with his amicable and upbeat energy.
It felt so surreal being in the presence of arguably the most famous Kpop idols in the world. Part of you couldn't even process that the people you were seeing were real.

"Here you go." The bartender slid yours and Jessi's drinks towards you.
You thanked him and went back out in the crowd, sticking close to your friend who was dancing slightly to the music while waving at the people she passed.
"Oh. There's Hyuna." She squeaked. "I'm gonna go say hi."
"Alright. I'll be over there." You gestured to an empty spot at the edge of the room, retreating from the mass of people as quickly as possible without drawing any attention.
Taking a few sips of your drink, you opted to observe the crowd from what you deemed to be the safest spot in the room.
Keeping to yourself was fine at first, enjoyable even, but you soon became bored, wishing to go back to the comfort of your own home.
Maybe you should loosen up and just try to have a good time. If you put yourself out there you might end up feeling more comfortable.
Your eyes drifted across the room, spotting Jungkook sitting on the shallow steps of the stage with a drink in his hand, round eyes staring off into the distance.
Well, at least I'm not the only one not participating in party activities. You thought to yourself, relieved to see that even idols as big as him didn't care for large gatherings.
Still, maybe you should give it a shot and try to enjoy your time, you don't even have to get out amongst the crowd. You can stay right where you are, which is exactly what you did. You started by just tapping your foot, moving your hips from side to side with the music, but not enough to be noticed, or so you thought.
