I sit in the back of the classroom, typing away on my computer. Today we're practicing writing business emails for companies. It's easy stuff, but extremely time consuming. It requires a lot of attention because you have to catch spelling and grammar errors as you type. My hands freeze on the keys, my eyes moving over to look at one of my classmates sitting a few desks away.
Park Jimin.

He's absolutely captivating. He wears round, black sunglasses and a gray beanie every day. It's kind of his signature look. The sunglasses make him seem kind of mysterious. He's never seen without them. No one really questions it though. They just let him do as he pleases, which, I don't blame them. He's so handsome, he should be able to do whatever he wants. His looks could kill.
Part of me can't help but wonder what he looks like without those glasses. Craning my neck, I try and catch a glimpse while his head is turned, hoping that maybe I can see his eyes, at least from the side.
Jimin turns his head slightly in my direction, the movement causing me to snap my attention away from him and back to my computer. My heart jumps as I pretend to type out the remainder of the letter, my eyes glancing to the side to make sure he didn't notice anything. I definitely shouldn't try that again. He could have caught me and that would've been extremely awkward. I wouldn't have been able to get myself out of that one.

I finish up my assignment, stealing glances at Jimin ever so often. I wondered if I was closer with him, would I get to see him without the sunglasses? The two of us haven't really talked. We've only exchanged a few hellos and  a small "Excuse me." when one of us needs to get by. At first glance, he seems a bit intimidating, but I've heard him speak and he sounds quite gentle. Perhaps even approachable. But, what would I say?

"Alright, we've got five minutes left. If you finished your assignment, go ahead and submit it and you can leave early."

I had already submitted my assignment. I look over at Jimin and see him gathering his belongings. This prompts me to start grabbing my things. Now is my chance.
I trail behind Jimin as he steps out of the classroom.

"Excuse me." I speak up.
He stops, turning to me.
"I like your rings."
He looks down at his hand, wiggling his fingers a bit before looking at me and smiling. "Thank you."
I stand there awkwardly, my hands shaking.
"Have a nice day."
"You too." He nods before walking off.

When he's out of sight, I drop my head into my hands and let out a groan. "Stupid." I mutter to myself. I should have tried to make conversation, or at least introduce myself. Maybe I can try again tomorrow, if I can work up the nerve, that is.

The next day, I sat anxiously in the back of the classroom. My mind was hardly focused on the work in front of me. Every time I would try and do my assignment, my mind would wander to Jimin. I would imagine a scenario in my head where I successfully have a conversation with him without flubbing. I somehow managed to get my assignment completed, my mind still bustling with thoughts of Jimin.
Class was dismissed and I hurried to catch up with Jimin who had already left the classroom.
I'm gonna do it. Today is the day.
He rounds the corner and starts heading down the stairs. I quickly start hurrying down them, not paying attention to my footing. Next thing I know, my foot slips out from under me and my backside makes contact with the edges of the steps. Jimin stops and turns around, seeing me sprawled our on the stairs like an idiot.

"Oh my gosh." He gasped, rushing over. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm f-fine." I grunt, pushing myself up.
"Here, let me help you."
He assists me down the stairs, making sure I don't slip and fall again.
"Thank you. You didn't have to do that."
"I couldn't just leave you there." He frowned.
"Well, I appreciate your help." I give a halfhearted smile.
"I'm Jimin, by the way."
"I'm Y/n. Thank you."
Well, this is one way to get acquainted. Not really what I planned, but it works.
"No problem. Are you sure you're gonna be okay?"
"Yeah." I nod. "My hip hurts a little, I'm sure it's gonna he bruised tomorrow. I'm okay, though."
"You sure?"
"Yeah." I nod, letting out a short laugh.
"Okay. Do you have a class after this?"
"No, it got cancelled."
"Be careful, alright? Drive home safely."
"You too! Uh, I mean, get to class safely or wherever you're going."
"I will." He chuckled. "It was nice meeting you."
"You too."
