You sat in the group of Hogwarts students in the stands watching anxiously as you waited for the first trial to start. Jimin, your good friend and longtime crush, had been chosen as your school's champion for the Triwizard Tournament and to say you were nervous was an understatement. These three trials the champions would have to go through were extremely dangerous, many students in the past coming out battered and bruised from the grueling trials. Jimin was a Slytherin and very headstrong, insisting on putting his name in the goblet of fire. You tried to talk him out of it, but he was persistent—he really wanted to do this.

The first challenge was to retrieve a golden egg from a fire-breathing dragon. The thought of Jimin having to go through that gave you a lump in your throat, if anything were to happen to him you don't know what you'd do. The chatter of the students around you became background noise as you spotted Jimin and the other champions heading into the tent just outside the stadium. You pushed yourself up out of your seat, squeezing past the Hogwarts students as you scurried down the stairs of the wooden bleachers. Once on the ground, you made your way to the tent, checking for any teachers before poking your head in through one of the gaps in the thick sheets of fabric. Inside you spotted Jimin who was pacing nervously, gnawing on his bottom lip.
You cleared your throat to get his attention. To your relief, it seemed to work as he lifted his head, glancing around the tented area until he spotted you peeking inside.
"Y/n!" He whispered, hurrying over with wide eyes. "What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to wish you good luck."
He held back a shy smile. "Thank you."
"I have to be honest though, I'm worried about you. This is really dangerous."
Though this wasn't the time to start getting flustered, Jimin's heart skipped a beat at your words. He liked that you were concerned for him.
"I know it is." He nodded, hoping that you didn't notice the blush on his cheeks. "But I've got this. I'm confident."
"Let's hope that confidence helps you make it out alive."
"Y/n." He chuckled softly. "There are safety measures put in place and a whole slew of teachers are watching, they won't let anything happen to anyone, okay?"
You nodded, hoping he was right. "Please be safe, Jimin."
"I will. I promise. Now go before someone sees you."

You reluctantly stepped away from the tent, hurrying back to your seat as you continued your anxious waiting until the challenge began. One by one, you watched each champion from other wizarding schools complete the task, then came Jimin. He looked so small as he emerged from the entrance of the rock-covered arena, his dark green robes standing out against the gray boulders. The golden egg was perched upright in the middle of the stadium, looking all too easy to grab. He peered around before taking a few cautious steps forward only to be stopped by the spiked tail of a dragon swooping in front of him, causing him to stumble and fall. You winced as your fingers curled around the wooden railing of the stands.
Jimin was quick to get up, clutching his wand as he started running away, dodging swings from the dragon, sometimes losing his footing and skidding against rocks making you wince.
He jumped just in time, lunging to hide behind a large rock right right as the creature breathed a line of fire towards him. Squeezing his eyes shut, he went though ways to get the egg from the dragon, wondering if there was a way to distract it. His eyes snapped open, gasping as an idea popped into his head.

Your foot tapped anxiously against the flooring of the stands, your eyes trained on the rock Jimin was hiding behind as you silently prayed that he was alright. Slowly, his head peeked out from behind the boulder, watching as the dragon took its spot above the golden egg, guarding it diligently. The Slytherin's eyes searched the sky before he lifted his arm.
Your jaw dropped. No way.
You watched as Jimin held a small, circular reflective object in his hand. He has a wand to defend himself and he's using a pocket mirror?
No, Jimin. You thought to yourself.
Did he have a death wish or something?
