It was a muggy summer evening in the southern city of Shenzhen. Xu Feng swiped at the sweat rolling into his eyes. At more than 80% humidity he wasn't sure how much the sweat was because of the weather, or because of the 8km run he just had.

It was nonetheless a satisfying workout session. He was one of those habitually active people who must exercise everyday. It was not just to maintain his fabulous figure for work; fitness had become so ingrained in him that he felt fat if he even missed exercising or sweating for one day.

Xu Feng looked up at the sky; it was getting dark and time to head back to the hotel. He keyed in the GPS coordinates and waited for the route to load. It had been a while since he came to Shenzhen so he still wasn't too familiar with this sprawling metropolis. So he liked to jog or bike around; it was a great way to explore the place and get his fitness fix at the same time.

Okay, 2km to go. That would make a total of 10km, and about 1'000 calories....Xu Feng swiftly calculated the results of the hour-long jog.
He looked around to get his bearings, before heading off in the direction the map pointed out. He had no idea where he was; as he set out on his jog he simply followed the road and went wherever fate took him. He marvelled at colossal buildings up close, and peered curiously into local shops.
What a wonderful place Shenzhen was. It was the 3rd largest city after Shanghai and Beijing, truly remarkable considering that only 40 years ago, it was a rural border town of only 30'000 people.
