Posting chapter 1 here so you guys can read it, let me know what you think and if you guys want to read more there are a couple more chapters posted already. Enjoy.Adrian's POV
Walking through the Royal gardens always filled me with delight. Seeing the beautiful greenery growing through the warm Spring air made me feel like I needed to do some growing myself. I'd always thought mentally, that I was never quite happy with myself. But, with a smile on my face, I always pushed through in order to help those around me.
Claire: "Adrian, think the Prince will come out to play today?"
Adrian: "The fact that he is now 19 years old and still not yet King, I'm not sure, perhaps his father just wants to train him a little bit more until he's ready."
Claire: "You are such a spoil sport, come on let's go find him."
Claire I know why you really want to find him but sadly, he's not as interested in his friends anymore so leave the poor man alone. We use to have so much fun running around and playing games, But now, We'll he's grown up and so have we. We aren't the same bubbly little kids running and playing on the hills behind the castle without telling the guards, even though I'm pretty sure Hamish always knew. And we definitely aren't the same little kids who could get away with trying to take a piece of fresh bread from the castle kitchen dropped off by the baker. I will never forgive Prince Jesse for getting us all caught. But the bread was very nice.
Adrian: "Why not just ask for work here? It's better than relying on when the Prince is free?"
Claire: "Yeah, No. I don't do physical labour."
Adrian: "You can tell."
Claire: "I am a woman in waiting, We don't lift a finger. That's why we have the help."
Adrian: "You mean servers, butlers, cleaners."
Claire: "Yeah the help."
I think I remembered one reason why I'm kind of glad that I was able to find work in the library. OK technically it was the Royal Library but come on. You don't need to put Royal in front of everything.
Adrian: "I'm going to be late for work, I have about 400 books to categorize and then put back the ones others leave out. I'll message you later OK?"
Claire: "Yeah yeah go and help the stewards do thier job."
Ok I get it, It's in thier job description and all that, I understand. But at the same time being a civil person with common sense shouldn't be looked down upon bitch.
Watching her walk off, probably back to her room, I followed through with my own idea even though I had no reason to go. I was off today and tomorrow and I was supposed to be meeting with Princess Emily for this evening. Eh fuck it I might just go now, Though I guess being gay had it's advantages. Mind you when the King found out he was ecstatic. He thought it was great that his two children had another person to talk to for ideas and opinions as well as learning more about the community. The king himself may be old but he is very progressive in how he treats his people.
The Queen on the other hand was not as happy but she has to keep her mouth shut on the topic after being found by a guard cursing me out in front of the Princess. She's a horrible woman and I hope she drops dead.
Adrian: "Madam Emily are you awake this morning?"
Emily: "Come in Sir Adrian I am just freshening myself up for this evening."
Adrian: "Oh please my dear we all know you are far too beautiful naturally, what can make up even do for you?"
Emily: "Compliment appreciated but unwanted."
