Out the window

Belarus's POV:

Oh no! Ukraine and Russia had warned me about UK. Their father was a bad person who forced his children to be capitalists and if his kids disobeyed him, he would cut off their limbs! He also hated my family.

Ukraine ran into the room shortly after Canada. Everyone looked scared. Canada and New Zealand looked around frantically when Canada pointed to the window and opened it. He told Ukraine and me to jump out of the window.

I heard the door open downstairs. I looked out the window, it was quite a drop. Surely I would hurt myself. Ukraine said he would jump first but Canada had a better idea. He said he could lower us to a smaller distance so we don't hurt ourselves.

Before you know it, Ukraine is being dangled out of the window while Canada is holding his hands and lowering him to the ground. Canada then let's go and I heard the thump of Ukraine landing on the ground. I'm next.

I stand next in line but we can hear the footstep of their fathers approaching the door. More panic flashes through the room. New Zealand opened his wardrobe and pushed inside. The wardrobe door closed and I stood there silently.

I heard the bedroom door open and someone steps inside. UK. I hold my breath not daring to make a sound while I listen to the conversation.

"Why is the window open?" I heard UK ask. Canada and New Zealand gave no answer. UK asked his question once more, this time sounding angrier. I heard him walk towards the window and close it. I started to shake. That's my only exit.

"Canada! I expected more of you than to help New Zealand escape again! Come with me!" UK said in a demanding, yet terrifying tone.

"N-no. wait," I heard New Zealand mumble.

"Ah, so you want to talk now. I will deal with you later," UK said as I heard him leave the room. Another pair of footsteps followed after UK. The door was slammed closed. Someone walked over to the wardrobe and opened it for me.

New Zealand looked terrified and miserable. He opened the window and gestured for me to climb out. I looked down and Ukraine was still there waiting. I crawled out the window and New Zealand grabbed my hands to lower me down.

As he did, Ukraine grabbed a hold of me and I dropped from the window. I looked up at New Zealand but he was gesturing us to leave immediately. Ukraine got the hints and started speed walking away. I followed quickly after him while waving goodbye.

"What took you so long to come down?" Ukraine asked.

"UK came in the room and I had to hide in the wardrobe," I explained. My brother nodded.

"What about Canada?" He asked.

"He wasn't there when I was let out of the wardrobe," I said. Ukraine looked worried. He always cared about Canada for some reason. More than he cares about me. Suddenly I heard and a loud thud and New Zealand ran passed us in a hurry.

"Run!" He shouted.

New Zealand's POV:

As soon as Bela was out of my grasp, the door slammed open and UK saw me half dangling out of the window. Without thinking or wanting to know what will happen I dived out the window and once again landed in the bushes below.

I didn't think about the new cuts on my body, I just ran. I passed Ukraine and Belarus. I told them to run as well. They did and followed me around the house. We ran down the street together as fast as we could.

I didn't know where to go. The only other person I knew that helped me was Wales. Yes! I will go to his house. He would surely let me stay. I told the other two that they should head home. I didn't want UK to know that I had been talking to communists. I fear, he would hurt more than just me.

Ukraine nodded and ran off in a different direction followed closely by Bela. I tried to remember the previous path I took to his house. I did pretty well. I was getting tired though so I stopped and went into a bar.

A worker at the bar walked over to me and told me I wasn't supposed to be in there. I didn't speak, but I'm guessing he read the worry in my eyes and sat me down at a table with a glass of water.

"Are you alright kid? You seem pretty scratched up," He asked. I sipped the glass of water and avoided eye-contact.

"Shy kid, huh? My name is German Empire, but you can call me Germany, everyone does," He introduced himself. I nodded. When my glass was empty he took my hand and lead me to a place behind the bar. He sat me on a small chair and told me to wait.

"Deutschland!" He shouted. He sounded rather aggressive, yet less scary than UK.

"Ja Vati?" came the voice of a little boy. He stopped and looked at me.

"Vati? Wer ist dieser?" He asked. (Who is that?)

"Warum findest du es nicht heraus," German empire said. (Why don't you find out,). German Empire left the room. I was left alone with the boy. He looked nervous.

"Uh, hallo, ich bin Deutschland," He said shyly. (hello, I am Germany,). I had no idea what he was saying. Perhaps an introduction. He was speaking another language. I guess I could speak in my language too if he was allowed to.

"Kia ora, ko au Aotearoa," I said. It felt good to speak my language again. The boy looked at me confused.

"Do you know English?" He asked. I nodded.

"Let's start again then, hello, I am Germany," He said. I was a little confused.

"Isn't that man called Germany?" I asked.

"He is my father, and his friends just call him Germany and they call me Deutschland." He explained. I was still confused but I pretended to know what was happening.

"My name is New Zealand, you can call me Zea or Kiwi if you want," I said. He smiled

"I think we are going to be friends," He said.
