Calm-down Cupboard

Australia's POV:

I was struggling to cope with last night's events. I can barely recall what happened. I just remembered Kiwi freaking out about a dream and he tried to smash the glass window. Dad wouldn't let him through, and he had to put Kiwi in a cupboard to calm down.

He is still in there and he has said nothing. I'm worried about him. Dad tells me to leave him alone. I still sat next to the cupboard, just in case. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Dad had fallen asleep on the couch and I was the only one awake and not locked in a cupboard.

I answered the door. As I slowly opened the door, I could see the kind but serious face of Mr Sweden. Not what I was expecting, but he wouldn't be the worst company.

"Is Netherlands home?" He asked.

"Yeah, but he is asleep," I mumbled, opening the door wider to let him in. Mr Sweden walked inside. It wasn't until he was inside that I noticed someone was on his back.

"Thought you two might get a little lonely, so I brought you and your brother a little friend," Sweden smiled. It was a little girl, way smaller than Kiwi. She looked around eight by human standards. The little girl slid off Mr Sweden's back.

She stared at me in awe.

"Oh, my gosh! We have matching Union Jack's!" She shouted excitedly.

"Be quiet!" I hushed. She obeyed me. But then I studied her flag. She was right. We both have matching Union Jack's. Was she another child of UK?

"So where is the other one?" She asked quietly.

"In the calm-down cupboard," I answered. At least that was what Dad described it as.

"Cupboard, you say? Where is it and what was your brother doing to get put in this cupboard?" Sweden asked suspiciously.

"I don't think I'm allowed to tell you," I responded quietly. I looked over at Dad as he snored.

"Have you eaten?" Sweden asked.

"No," I sighed, looking down at my feet. Sweden seemed to process something in his head.

"You keep an eye on this little one while I make you some breakfast," Sweden said, walking towards the kitchen.

"So what is your name?" I asked the little girl.

"Tuvalu, but my big brothers and sisters call me dolphin," She smiled.

"Named after an animal, huh," I sighed. For some reason, I had this strange feeling that she was related to Kiwi.

"Do you know anyone called New Zealand?" I asked.

"Nope," She shook her head. Strange.

"Are you New Zealand?" She asked back.

"No, I'm Australia," I retorted.

"Let me out! I can't see anything!!" I heard the sound of Kiwi coming from the calm-down cupboard. I felt nervous. I didn't want Dad to wake up.

Sweden ran into the room as well and then over to the cupboard as Kiwi kept panicking and pounding on the inside. Dad locked the door with a key and Sweden wasn't able to get inside.

"What is going on!? I told you to be quiet!!" Dad shouted.

New Zealand's POV:

So dark, too dark! No light!

I knew I couldn't trust him. I could never trust him.

I was having a lot of difficulty containing my fear. I banged loudly on the walls of this dark place. I hated the cupboard. He would leave me locked in here for hours on end.

"Kiwi, be quiet! He'll wake up!" I heard about Australia. I calmed down a little.

Suddenly, Netherlands' loud voice rang out angrily. I fell silent, and so did Aussie.

"What you are doing here!?" Neth shouted. I didn't know what was going on outside, but made sure to listen in.

"Well, I was returning something from Australia and came here to notify you that Canada has been found," Someone said. It was hard to recognise their voice through the thick walls of the cupboard.

"Wait, Canada was missing?" I muttered to myself.

"I didn't ask you to speak!" Neth yelled at me.

"Anyway, care to explain why you locked your son in this cupboard?"

"I'm not his son!" I shouted.

"He had a nightmare and became hysterical and then tried to break the window claiming that he needed to save America," I could hear disrespect in Neth's voice as he spoke.

"So you locked him in a cupboard?"

"Well, yeah. What do you expect me to do? Let him smash the windows?"

"Can I come out now?" I whined.

I heard Netherlands grumble and walk over to the cupboard. I heard the clink of a key and the cupboard open. I rushed out and hid behind a couch.

"Kiwi, over here," I heard Aussie whisper from the kitchen. I quickly bolted to where he was and he gave me a big hug.

"Woah! So you guys are twins?" I heard the voice of a little girl. I turned my head and saw, well, a little girl.

"We aren't twins," Aussie explained.

"You guys look the same," She commented.

"I have more stars than him!" Australia shouted.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Tuvalu," She answered. She seemed familiar.

"Identify yourself," I said.

"Tuvalu of the Oceania region," She answered.

"Hah! I knew it!" I shouted as I gave her a big hug.

"Knew what?" Tuvalu asked.

"I'm of Oceania too," I answered proudly.

"What is your name?" She asked excitedly.

"I will just go to the lounge," Australia mumbled.

"In Oceania they call me Aotearoa," I answered.

"Oh, my gosh! You are Maori's brother!! You're my brother!" She grinned.

"This is so awesome!" We both shouted.

I didn't know I had another little sister. I needed to show her around. I knelt down to let her climb on to my back and then carried her into the lounge. Not the lounge where the Neth was, the second lounge.

Australia was standing there, staring at something on a shelf. I walked over to him with Tuvalu on my back.

"What are you looking at?" I asked.

He said nothing, he just pointed to a framed picture. It was of Netherlands to hold a baby.

"That's me," Australia said plainly, pointing at the baby.
