Team Avatar couldn't help but stare at Lin as she stood in the corner, glaring at everyone that dared to approach her.
"Did we miss something? Why is Lin so mad?"
"Maybe she didn't want to come to the party? Who dragged her in?"
Asami elbowed Korra's stomach, giving her a warning look.
"Korra that was rude. When I handed her the invitation, Lin actually looked excited for it."
"Lin? Excited for a party?"
Korra, Mako, and Bolin start to laugh while Asami gave them an unimpressed look. She honestly couldn't believe how she was friends with them. They could be so childish sometimes.
"Keep that up and we'll see who will be laughing then."
Korra quickly sobered up, not wanting to deal with the consequences. Asami always had a way of being a little cruel when she didn't listen to her.
"I'm sorry. I'll be nice now. Maybe I should go talk to her? Ask her if there's anything we could do to cheer her up."
"Why do I get the feeling that you're just going to make things worse Korra?"
"I agree with Asami, I definitely think that you'll make things worse."
"Hey! Whose side are you on?"
"I'm always on Asami's side."
"Some friend you are, Bolin."
The 4 of them move on to talk about other things, deciding it was best to leave Lin to her own devices. Lin would eventually be bound to cheer up at some point.

No one had expected for Lin to cheer up when she saw you. Much less for you to run up to her and kiss her. They didn't know that Lin was dating anyone.
"We all just saw that, right? I didn't just hallucinate it?"
Mako cried out in pain as Bolin pinched his arm.
"Nope, you didn't imagine it, Mako. We all saw it."

"I can't believe you're here. I didn't think you were going to make it."
The two of you were on the dance floor, joining the other couples as they slow danced.
"I wasn't but you're lovely sister heard that I hadn't caught the latest ship to Republic City and decided to do us a favor and dropped by."
"I should've known that she was up to something when she ignored all my questions."
"Lin, you're the police chief, you definitely should've known that I was up to something when I was doing so."
Suyin tells the two of you as she passed by. Lin didn't have a chance to answer back as Su's husband led her away. He knew how often the two of them would argue and he wanted to avoid it. Lin glared at Su from across the dance floor, not wanting to let her think that she was going to get away with what she said.
"Lin?" You rolled your eyes as she ignored you. Hating that she wasn't paying any attention to you, you gently grasped her chin and made her look at you. "I didn't come here for you to be fighting with your sister. Now you can either focus on me while we dance or I can leave you here on your own."
"Sorry."
She mumbled quietly. You gave her a smile before kissing her softly. It honestly amused you to see the two of them fight but you just wanted to spend the evening together without any arguments. Laying your head on her chest, you closed your eyes as you let Lin lead the dance.
"I'm glad Su, picked me up. I missed you terribly."
Lin held you a little tighter as she looked down at you with a smile.
"I missed you too, darling. Lets not spend a long time away from each other."
