Immortal Yuuji waiting for his deceased lover to reincarnate and each time he finds Sukuna, he's either dead or with someone else. When Sukuna died in Yuuji's arms for the thousand time, Yuuji couldn't take it anymore. So, with the body of his dead lover lying by his side, Yuuji kills himself, embraced in Sukuna's arms.
When Sukuna is reincarnated again, he remembered who Yuuji was and now he has to live and keep reincarnating with the knowledge that Yuuji's long dead and gone.
