~NOTES~
This is my interpretation of Michael's proposal to Liz, based on various interviews and articles she gave. This is a little shorter than usual, but enjoy :)

Liz's POV
Michael and I are being shown around a house we might buy.

"And that's everything. I'll leave the two of you to look around." The realtor, Daniel says.

"Thank you." We say and he leaves.

"This is it. This is the house." I say.

"You think so?" Michael asks.

"For sure. What do you think?" I ask.

"It's nice." He nods.

"That's not really helpful." I say.

"Sorry. It's lovely, it really is but so are all the other houses we looked at. And you thought each of those were 'the one'." He says.

"I have a feeling about this one." I tell him.

"Then we should get it, babe." Michael says, holding both my hands in front of me.

"It's perfect for the dogs, it's perfect for the furniture we already have, it's perfect for Halloween, for Christmas...let's face it, it's perfect for us." I chuckle.

"I love you." He smiles.

"I love you too." I say smiling.

We're just about to kiss when the realtor walks back in.

"Let's just put an offer on it, Liz." Michael says.

"Okay. We'd like to make an offer please." I say.

"Brilliant. I'll grab the papers." Daniel says.

Timeskip

We've signed all the papers and Daniel leaves.

"Come on, I wanna see the garden again." Michael says, taking my hand and leading me outside.

"But you just saw the garden." I frown.

"I'd like to see it a second time. I need to make sure there isn't not too much sunlight for you." He smiles and I laugh.

"The trees are so pretty." I say looking up.

"They are. Now turn around, please." He says, letting go of my hand.

"Why?" I ask.

"I have a surprise for you." He says and I stare at him. "Trust me." He laughs and I turn around.

"What's going on? Michael, I'm freaking out." I say, playing with my hands.

He laughs.

"Liz, I'm right here." He says and gently touches my shoulder.

"I need to know what's going on, Michael." I say.

"Okay babe, turn around." He says.

"It's not another dog, is it? Because I can't say no but I believe we did just buy-" I ramble as I turn around, but stop talking when I see Michel on one knee on the grass.

"Liz," He starts. "I loved you from our very first date, and if you'll let me, I want to be by your side to love you forever. Will you marry me?"

"Yes." I whisper, smiling and trying not to cry.

"Can I give you the ring now?" He smiles and I nod.

"Michael, it's beautiful!" I gasp as he slides it onto my finger.

"I know you like emerald." Michael smiles. "Also, I had more to say but you were freaking out so I decided to get straight to the point." He says and I laugh.

"It's okay. Save it for the wedding." I smile.

I stand on my tiptoes and put my hands on his chest to balance while I kiss him.

Timeskip - 1 Year Later

We're sat in our new house working on the wedding plans.

"What do you want for food?" Michael asks.

"As long as there's something vegan I don't really mind. I'll likely be too excited to eat anything." I say.

"Your Mom will have good food suggestions." He says.

I zone out, looking at my hand.

"Babe? Liz?" Michael laughs.

"Sorry." I giggle.

"Where did you go just then?" He chuckles, kissing my temple.

"No idea." I say shaking my head.

"What's the matter?" Michael asks.

"Nothing, babe." I say.

He nods towards my hands.

"I just can't stop looking at it, Michael." I smile, twisting my engagement ring on my finger.

"Even after a year, huh." He smiles.

"It doesn't get old." I smile. "FYI, I'm not having bridesmaids. It's a headache I can avoid."

"Fine by me." He says. "Hey, how funny would it be if we plan this huge wedding and then it just all gets cancelled?" He asks, laughing.

"Hilarious." I say and roll my eyes. "Fucking hilarious, Mike."
