~NOTES~
This is a chapter centred around anxiety, if you didn't get that from the title so consider this your trigger warning. Remember, anxiety looks different for everyone. Enjoy :)

Sadie's POV
I wake up and go downstairs to the kitchen. Mom is sat on the couch next to Otis with her laptop and a coffee.

"Mom, I can't go to school today." I say.

"Why not?" Mom asks.

"I can't leave the house." I say.

"Okay. Do you want to try?" Mom asks.

"No." I say.

"Alright I won't force you to go anywhere." Mom says.

"What are you doing today?" I ask.

"I've got an in-person meeting with my agent at 1 and then I'll probably tidy up the house." Mom says.

"Can I come with you?" I ask.

"Sadie, you always complain that it's boring." Mom says.

"It is but I don't want to be away from you." I say.

"I won't be long, sweetheart." Mom says.

"Please, Mom. I won't complain." I say, starting to tear up.

"Why don't you get your teachers to email you your schoolwork and you can do it in my meeting?" Mom suggests.

"Okay." I nod.

"Attagirl. Get some breakfast." Mom says.

"I will." I say.

"Your anxiety ring arrived this morning." Mom says, handing me a small parcel.

"Ah yay! Thank you." I say, hugging her and taking the parcel.

"Which design did you go for in the end?" Mom asks as I rip open the package.

"The bead one. You can slide them along the ring and I love that." I say.

"Maybe I should get one
