(Y/N)'s POV

Woefully underprepared for what was coming, I charged at the Empousa, her hands changed to claws. Her hair burst into flame and her legs turned to their true form—one donkey leg, one bronze. I welcomed it, ready for my payback.

As the giants rushed to get at Daedalus, Percy and Annabeth drew their weapons and rushed to defend him as the she-demon rushed at me, claws already swinging like guillotines. I couldn't block with Glimmer properly.

Maybe because she was taking me more seriously now, but her claws were longer then before, what were once boning knives on the ends of each finger had grown into butchers knives. Because of that even when I parried with Glimmer she could cut at my hands.

Relying of Gleam, I managed switch my tactics to evading and waiting for an opening, but I had to keep the fact she was getting closer and closer to the inventor clear in the back of my mind. That was until the giants came right at Daedalus, and Mrs. O'Leary leaped to his defense.

Rachel ran off further into the workshop after shouting something at Percy that I didn't pay attention to due to the monster attacking me. Annabeth tried to come forward and help me but she was almost slashed to ribbons, her dagger having the same issue as mine.

I tried to force the Empousa into a one on one fight, so that I could wear her down but the monster was playing it smart for the most part, keeping me away with her claws and the demon was quick and deadly.

She turned over tables, smashed inventions, and wouldn't let us get close. So I tried using another weapon in my arsenal, my big mouth. "Do you know how many of your sisters I've killed?" I asked.

She laughed haughtily as I ducked and dived to avoid her claws, trying to strike at her, but there was some strange magic protecting her, like she was covered in mist. "Bragging isn't very attractive honey." She hissed.

I chuckled, "No, I'm not bragging, I'm asking you. How many do you think I've killed? They aren't very memorable you see." I said as I sidestepped away from a claw that cut what I think was a weather machine in half.

"Even the gods thought so, they didn't even really count towards my 100, seeing as you are just puppets of Hecate, so I guess I just slaughtered them from fun. Oh, and there was a bunch that Luke sent at me, did you know them?"

"Shut your mouth!" She said, playing into my hands, "What were their names?" I taunted, feeling like a heartless monster but knowing this was the only way to get at her without help from the others.

Eventually in her rage she stopped defending altogether, just wanting to cause me as much pain as possible, her flaming hair growing so hot that the air around it began to hiss and the metal on the countertops bubbled a little.

For the second time she tried her dirty trick, she lunged at me headfirst, bearing her fangs, making me focus on them, but as I circled around her for a flanking attack as she lunged, she kicked backwards with her animal leg.

I had been on the lookout for it, I would never let that happen to me again. I don't know if I ever could. so I moved slightly, and as her hoof  shot out past my side I wrapped my free hand around it, forcing it to remain in my grip. She wailed as my magic drained her, but that was the least of her worries.

"Always works?" I smirked, pulling her hoof towards me so she was off balance and going to hack at it with my sword. Ready to take it clean off at the thigh. Her face dropped but she reacted quickly, jumping up and kicking me with her other leg.

It felt like I had just been hit in the chest with a battering ram, she landed on her back at the same time I did, but got up faster, as I struggled to my knees she was already on her feet. That was always bad news when it came to fighting monsters like her.
