(Y/N)'s POV

The night was perfectly silent, and I basked in the size of my own genius, extending myself out as much as I could, almost laughing at the silence. Here I was, sat in the freezing cold, on an overturned log, chained up and with deadly weapons pointed at me, but I couldn't be happier.

I was still waiting for my perfect moment to strike, they were waiting at my beck and call. Eventually the huntresses switched shifts and Thalia circled around to us.

"You feeling better?" I asked, "Quiet yourself boy" One of the hunters sneered. "Calm down. It was just a question." "What's it to you?" Thalia asked, pausing to glare at me. I shrugged, "Just making sure."

"I'm fine," she said, stretching her neck, "Not that you really care." I acted hurt, "I know you're worried about Annabeth but there is no need to be uncivil." "Shut up." She warned. "I could find her you know. Faster than the hunters ever could." I offered.

The hunters present snarled at me and put more tension into their bowstrings. "I don't call them the B team just because they are a bunch of-" I looked at my captors and their very lethal weapons, "-Brilliant shots." She glared at me.

"Let me guess, I just have to free you?" She smirked, "Pretty much, yeah." I said, not wanting to draw attention to the fact I didn't really need her help to escape. She just rolled her eyes and turned away, before she left, I called after her.

"How's the nepotism treating you?" I said, "What?" she said as she glared again. "Well, I just find it weird that most campers wait years for their quests, but Percy's on his third already and you're here a few months after you stopped being a root vegetable."

"It's not a quest. It's a mission." She corrected; I nodded in understanding. "And how many Hermes campers were offered a chance to go on this mission?" I asked, trying not to get upset, I didn't want that problem right now.

"Chiron said I'd be the best person to lead this group. Percy and Annabeth volunteered because they were nearby." "Oh, I see, Chiron said you could do it." I nodded in understanding.

"Why do you think that is? Spoiler Alert, it's not your superior fighting ability" I said as I pointed to her injuries. She glared at me, "Can't you gag him or something!"

She stormed off. "Well, that is a tempting thought." I looked over. "Well, if it isn't my favourite OAP. How ya doing Zoe?" I asked as she had bandaged wrapped around her by one of her lackeys.

She was taking pleasure in taunting me. "Is thou finding comfort in his binds?" she asked, "Yeah, thanks for asking Lady Macbeth." She rolled her eyes, "Do you fear that you may not comprehend the big words?"

"No, I fear I'll die of old age before you finish a sentence, or worse, you would." "Are you going to cry from frustration if I don't talk like this? Go ahead, cry if you would like" She said smugly in a normal American accent, her pack of girl scouts all giggled.

"That was one time! I had smoke in my eyes!" I defended, "Because we had to save you.-" "-After you threw a smoke bomb at me while I was fighting!"

"You should consider yourself lucky, it is not every day we would offer our services to a boy." She said, "I'll try not to take that out of context." I smirked, she punched me, "Without our skill you would have died that day." I scoffed, "You call those skills?"

"I have slain more monsters than you can count boy, though I imagine that number is not an impressive one." "Yeah, but that's because you're an old lady, if we go by yearly averages, I would destroy you when it comes to the numbers."

"Nonsense." She denied me, I just told her the facts, "You kill like 3 monsters a year. I used to aim for that per day. If I were as old as you, there would be no monsters left for your 'sacred hunts.'" She scoffed, "And how did that go?" She asked.
