My tail was pressed on the ground, keeping me in the air as my legs were crossed. I was listening to Benthomaar talk with everyone else.

"I have no memories from before that fateful day" he started. "No memories of my real father. Or my real mother. I remember only the family who adopted me. The father who took me in."

Cole spoke "Hey, that's like Asteria...You guys kind of relate. She doesn't know who her family is except for the ones who adopted her."

I smiled nervously "Heh...Yeah..." I avoided eye contact, Zane frowned at this since he was the only one I told that I do remember my family...I just wasn't ready yet. "Really?" Benthomaar asked and his expression brightened. I looked "Yeah...But you continue, we can discuss that another time. Continue what you were talking about."

Benthomaar nodded and continued. "I was being attacked by eels but my father, he...He fearlessly took on all of the eels, saving my life. To this day, it is the most heroic thing I have ever seen. This was the moment I met the one who would raise me. The one I would call Father."

"King Trimaar was caring, attentive...He accepted me and treated me just like his own son. Although, not everyone was so accepting...I wanted only to earn Kalmaar's love. I thought one day, if I kept trying, he would accept me as his father did."

Benthomaar sighed "But nothing would please Kalmaar. I began to lose hope. I feared he would never view me as his brother. Then, one day..."

"He approached me while I was at the training grounds, apologizing and I...I believed it. He told me we should explore and I followed him to Tartarus Trench."

Lloyd's eyes widened "He took you to Tartarus Trench? Why?"

Benthomaar spoke "He used me to help him get through it...Since it had a lot of poisonous fogs." He frowned. I growled "What a horrible brother..You don't deserve to be treated so horribly, you're very kind."

Benthomaar smiled at me "Thank you, Asteria..."

He continued "A-Anyways.." He cleared his throat. "We found the underwater temple that Kalmaar was looking for, but...I found out he only used me. I understood then, for the first time I think, that Kalmaar would never love me."

"My father was the only one who cared about me. And now he's gone...And I am alone." Benthomaar finished and he looked down. I frowned as I stood on my two feet and walked to Benthomaar, I put a hand on his shoulder and he looked up at me. "You're not alone, Benthomaar...You have us. And we have you." I smiled.

"Asteria's right. We can't pick our family, but we can pick our friends. And I'm proud to call you a friend" Lloyd said. Benthomaar looked and smiled, I pulled my hand away. "Now let's get to that island, and make sure we get the amulet before Kalmaar does!" Nya said.
