49. Surprise!? (Her side)

Today happen to be very special day for me, though I don't plan on celebrating my birthday since future arc may start any time soon. I was roaming around Namimori hallways when I find myself sitting in the roof, I should be in class right now but I don't really feel like going and would prefer to enjoy this blissful weather than being lecture by something that I already know. I look up at the bright blue sky, everything quiet and the weather is starting to warm up.

Summer Vacation is coming up as well!

My blissful moment soon was eradicated by the vibration from my phone, I took my phone our to see a message notification.

Bzzt. Bzzt.

Happy birthday.

Succession battle is going to be in two month. I expect you to win.

I sigh, looking at my uncle's message, I'm not sure if I should feel happy that he remembers my birthday or nervous at his message because he just had to remind me of what's about to come for me. In two months, I have to go back in Italy (or was it in China?) to participate in the succession battle.

I'm not even sure if I'll survive or not, but maybe if there's a small chance, I should start making my own mafia family. Maybe my dream of at least finishing a normal school was impossible. Should I quit school soon? I'll probably be tied up in my Family's business..

I lied down, feeling the cool concrete on my back, as I bask under the sun. I close my eyes, memories of being in Italy floods back in my mind; sleepless nights, the sound of gunshots, horrifying bodies overlapping with one after another along with their pleading scream.

"What are you doing?" My sunlight was suddenly covered by a shadow.

"Thinking..." I answer my female friend, Not bothering to opening my eyes.

"Thinking?" She repeated, sitting next to me "what are you thinking?"

"Hari... I'm planning to leave Japan soon..." I told my future plan, enjoying the fresh air.

"For how long are you going to stay?" Hari asks, thinking that it'll be one of those vacations.

"I... don't think I can return. No, I don't plan to return in Japan after graduation..." I open my eyes and look into her eyes, her happy expression turned into a grim one "so I was thinking... if you would like to come with me?"
