Y/n's pov

I watched the buildings go by as the train sped by. I sensed a presence next to me, I looked to my right and saw Terry McGinnis. "You really need to stop," I chuckled, Terry just smirked and shook his head. "I won't stop till I surprise you," he grinned. "Terry, you're not going to surprise me at all," I said. His grin said everything, he's going to keep on trying.

I rolled my eyes, school came into view. Terry and I got off, I waved bye to Terry and headed to my locker. After grabbing my books I headed to class, I spotted Nelson waiting for me at a desk beside mine making me groan. I walked over to my desk and sat down. "Hey babe," he greeted. "What are you doing hanging out with McGinnis?" I snorted. "Who cares who I hang out with?" I asked. "He's a freak," said Nelson. "He's a friend," I snapped back. "He's always been there for me and I'm always there for him," I said, Nelson snorted. "Come on babe, you're better with me than him," Nelson said. "Yeah, good luck winning me over," I said, Nelson opened his mouth to say something but the bell stopped him.

                                        Thank God.

~time skip~

Ah, the swim competition is today and I love it. I pulled my h/c h/l hair back into a high/low ponytail and walked out of the locker room with my f/c goggles wrapped around my wrist. I spotted Terry at the bleachers, he smiled and I smiled back. I spotted someone else, great, Nelson is here too. The whistle blew and I dove in with my opponent, I quickly swam to the end and back. The objective of today's competition is accuracy and speed, the first team to finish 20 laps without needing to take a break wins, each time a swimmer finishes 20 laps his or her teammate quickly takes his or her place. 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.

I quickly pulled myself out of the pool and let my teammate go. "Go!" I shouted. "Keep going!" The team and I continued cheering, there's 7 of us if we multiply 20 and 7 we get 140. Our last teammate made it. "Yes!" I cheered, the team and I congratulated each other with a clap to the shoulder and a couple of punches to the arm or shoulder.

I got changed and walked out of the locker room again with my duffel bag and backpack thrown over my shoulder, I spotted Terry waiting for me. I began walking over to him but Nelson stopped me. "Leave me alone, Nelson," I said ."Let me think," he said. "How about no?" I sighed. "Do you really want Terry to beat you up?" I asked, Nelson snorted. "We fought once, he didn't win." Said Nelson. "It doesn't mean he can't beat you now," I said. "I'll turn around if I were you," I added and Nelson did only to see a seriously pissed Terry. That's a really bad sign. "What's the matter, McGinnis? Jealous?" Nelson asked. "You bet I am," Terry seethed, oh no.

I quickly grabbed Terry by the arm. "Ter, don't," I said. "Don't, you're on probation, remember?" Terry glared at Nelson while Nelson smirked. "Looks like McGinnis can't fight back," said Nelson. "Ignore him," I said, I made Terry look at me. "Terry, he's just trying to get to you," I said. "Please don't," Terry took a deep breath. "Fine," he said. "Let's go home." He grabbed my hand and pulled me away.

Once in the train, Terry and I didn't say anything for a bit. "Terry," I said softly. "The reason why I stopped you is because you would've gotten expelled from school," I said, I slipped my hand into his. "You're my best friend, I couldn't lose you," Terry sighed. "I know," he said. "Try not to pick a fight with him next time. Kay?" I said. "I'll try," said Terry. "He's so annoying though," Terry added. "That I agree with," I said, we burst out laughing like how we used to.

When we reached out stop Terry walked me back home. I hugged Terry by the waist. "I'll see you tomorrow then," I said. "Yeah, take a shower too, I can smell the chlorine from you." Said Terry, I punched his arm and glared at him while he laughed, I rolled my eyes and went inside.

Mother and Father aren't here again, both are still at work I guess. After taking a shower I walked into my bedroom with a towel wrapped around my shoulders. I got changed into a tank top and shorts, I dried my hair and started working on my homework. My phone vibrated notifying me that someone texted me, I expected it to be from Terry but it's from Nelson.

Nelson: how are you, babe?

Me: how did you get my number?!

Nelson: I have my ways

Me: quit trying to go out with me already! I already said no and that's my final answer!

Nelson: oh come on, babe, don't be like that

Me: you're only trying to go out with me so you can get Terry to fight you again

Nelson: I am not

I rolled my eyes and blocked him from texting and calling me. I went onto every media apps or websites that I have and turned it to private so that Nelson can't try to talk to me through there. I sighed and plopped myself down on the bed, another text.

Terry: hey

Me: hey

Terry: you alright?

Me: no

Terry: what happened?!

Me: Nelson is what happened

Terry: what?

Me: he somehow found my number and texted me

Terry: that's it, I'm going to beat him tomorrow

Me: Terry, no!

Terry: I can't stand him flirting with you anymore, Y/n! he deserves the beating!

Me: Terry, I know you're mad right now but pls don't!

Terry: sorry Y/n, I'm doing it whether you like it or not

Me: Terry

Me: Terry?

Me: TERRENCE!!

I quickly grabbed my jacket and rushed outside. I have to get to Terry before he does something

crazy!

Terry's pov

I'm almost at Nelson's place. Boy am I going to enjoy punching him for trying to go out with Y/n, she's mine and mine alone, no one can look at her, touch her or anything, nobody but me can do that. I knocked on the door and it opened. "Well, well, looks like McGinnis i-." Nelson began but I cut him off by punching him. "Nobody is stopping me now," I growled.

Y/n's pov

I finally made it to Nelson's place, I found Nelson's father trying to pull Terry off of his son. "Terry!" I shouted. "Stop!" I shouted and ran over to them. I grabbed Terry's elbow and pulled with Nelson's father, Terry pushed me back, I tried again, Terry pushed me back even harder. I yelped when my elbow came in contact with the hard concrete. Terry stopped and looked at me, the anger in his eyes is gone, instead, care and regret are in it.

"Y/n," Terry began, Nelson's father helped me up. "If I see you beating my son up on my property again I'll be seeing you in court, boy," Nelson's father growled. "Little lady, are you alright?" Nelson's father asked me kindly. "I think I have a bruised elbow, other than that, I think I'm okay," I said. "Get out of here, boy," he growled. "I'm not leaving without Y/n," said Terry. "I don't know who you are anymore, Terry," I said. "You're not the boy I grew up with," I said. "You're not the Terry that I know and care about," I said. "Get out," I whispered. "Y/n." Terry began. "Get out!" I shouted.

Terry slowly began leaving, he turned to give me a sad look and left. "My wife will take a look at your elbow," said Nelson's father. "First, help me get my son inside," I nodded. Together, we got Nelson inside. Nelson's mother screamed when she saw her son. She quickly took care of him before taking care of me. "Your elbow is just bruised, dear, it should be healed in a couple of days." She told me. "Thank you," I said. I bid both goodbye and left, I pulled out my phone to see multiple texts from Terry.

It's from 'I'm srry' 'pls forgive me' 'I was only trying to get him to stop' I sighed and walked home. I opened the door, I found both Mother and Father. "Where have you been, young lady?" Asked Father. "I was visiting someone, sir," I lied. "Enough with the lies, young lady," said Father. "It's true!" I said. "Enough! Starting from tomorrow you won't be seeing him anymore, your mother and I arranged a marriage for you once you graduate from high school," said Father. "With who?" I asked. "A boy named Nelson." Said Mother, I tensed, oh no.
