The bell of El Paso High School rang out, lockers opening and shutting, talking, and laughter is heard. I opened the my locker and got my stuff, I shut it and turned to see Derek, the captain of the football team and the most popular jock "hey there, hermosa," (beautiful) said Derek "wanna get something to eat?" he asked "I'm fine, thanks for the offer," I said and started to walk away, Derek grabbed my hand, "Vamos, nena, soy el tipo más popular aquí, vamos a conseguir algo para comer y convertirse en la pareja más popular aquí," (come on, babe, I'm the most popular guy here, let's get something to eat and become the most popular couple here) said Derek "no gracias," (no thank you) I said, Derek growled and pushed me up against the lockers, "Vamos, hermosa, sé que me quieres," (come on, beautiful, I know you want me) said Derek "Sé que te gusta tu amigo incómodo," (I know your awkward friend likes you) Derek said "you're using me!" I said kicking at him "let go!" I said "Y/n!" I heard Jamie calling out, he grabbed Derek by the back of his jacket and threw him off, "Escúchame, idiota, si una señora dice, deja ir y luego deja ir," (listen to me, you jerk, if a lady says let go then let go) said Jamie, he then grabbed my hand and led me out of the school. I leaned over and kissed his cheek, "gracias,"(thank you) I said "de nada," (you're welcome) said Jamie "are you okay? He didn't hurt you did he?" Jamie started asking, great, the worry Jamie side kicked in, "Estoy bien, Jamie, no hay necesidad de preocuparse por mí," (I'm fine, Jamie, no need to worry about me) I said "Jamie," I began "before you saved me, Derek said you liked me," I said "is it true?" Jamie's lips are on mine once those words let my mouth, I kissed back, I wrapped one arm around the back of his neck.
Jamie placed a hand on my back and the other on my waist, he then broke the kiss and leaned his forehead against mine, "you have no idea how long I wanted to do that," he murmured, I smiled at him, "te amo, Y/n," (I love you, Y/n) Jamie said "te amo, Jamie," I said, Jamie smiled and kissed me again.
