Noah trudged to his apartment replaying the words of his brothers in his head. It was hard being the youngest brother. Although they respected his talent for building and repairing things, when it came to matters of the heart, they treated him just like their younger sisters. Overly protective.

Noah didn't notice the light on in his kitchen as he climbed the stairs to his apartment. He opened the door to the smell of something good and the sight of his girl setting the table for dinner.

"Surprise!" Blue smiled as she walked to greet Noah.

"What's all this?" Noah wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her cheek.

"Since we didn't get to enjoy a proper breakfast, I thought you might like to try some of my spaghetti. I heard your family talking about the family recipe so I figured you liked it." Blue pushed him to the stove  dipping a spoon in the sauce and offered him a sample. "Well? Does it meet your expectations?"

Noah savoured the flavor smilingly slyly. "Wait a minute, this is our recipe. How did you do that? Replicate our recipe?"

Blue straightened his collar. "I had a little help."

"Red?" Noah asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Uh huh. She lent me the recipe."

"She's a sweetheart and so are you for doing all of this."

"You finish setting the table and I'll serve."
Noah followed her orders as she joined him at the table.

"How was your day?" She asked as she passed him the garlic bread.

"Long and trying." He answered. They ate without much conversation. Blue could tell something weighed on his mind but didn't push him. She had learned in her short time with him that he would open up when he was ready. She had all the time in the world.

After dinner, he invited her to join him on the sofa. He sat for a minute just staring at her. "I want to know you better."

"Uh, I think you figured that out last night." She giggled as her cheeks flushed pink.

"I don't mean it in that way although that was quite pleasant."

"Just pleasant?" She inquired.

"Okay, in the words of my brother Bear, it was extremely awesome."

"Better description!"

"I want to know you. What you like, what you dislike. Your favorite things. Things that make you who you are."

Blue got comfy on the couch pulling her legs up to her chest. "What do you want to know?"

"Everything." He replied. "I thought we could start with the basics."

"I'm game. You start."

Noah sat back on his side of the couch sitting cross legged from her.

"Cats or dogs." He asked.

"No preference. And you?"

"Ferrets and scorpions."

"Scorpions? They aren't warm and fuzzy."

"But they are so interesting."

"That's a no for me."

"Noted."

Noah thought for a minute. "Favorite color?"

"Isn't it obvious....pink. It's a ballerina thing. And you?"

"Black."

Blue winced. "Black is not a color. It is the absence of color."

"Okay. Blue."
