K' woke up to his alarm clock ringing. He groped at his nightstand, grabbed the alarm clock and flung onto the wall with a groan.
"Kriz... you want to get out of bed?" K' mumbled, his face buried in his pillow. He didn't get a reply, so he reached a hand over, calling to his clone again. "Kriz..."
No reply.
K' knelt up on his bed and looked over at the bed on other side of the room. Empty.
K' scratched his head and got out of bed. He figured that his roommate was up and about with the rest of his housemates.
He looked over at Krizalid's bed again and saw that his older clone had neatly made his bed. He looked over at his own bed and saw how messy it was.
K' couldn't help but wonder if he would learn that habit in the coming years. Would he be like Krizalid? He didn't want to be, but the thought certainly did cross his mind.
He decided to make his bed for once. He exited the room and came to the living room. He stopped short as he noticed how empty it was. Normally, he would be greeted by Maxima typing something on his laptop with Krizalid close by, seeing his phone while chatting with Maxima. Kula would be watching her favourite cartoon, having breakfast or binging on sweets or ice cream.
But now, the apartment seemed to be empty. He scratched his head.
'Where's everyone else?' K' thought. 'Where did they go?'
He went back to his room and grabbed his phone. None of them even left him a text!
K' pulled his dressing gown on and walked out of the apartment to see if they were next door.
He knocked on their door and repeatedly pressed the doorbell. No answer.
K' scratched his head again and returned to his apartment. He sat on the couch and wondered where his housemates were.
'Eh they must've just gone shopping,' K' finally decided.
He went to the bathroom and took a shower. By now, Maxima had already sent him the photo. K' didn't see it since he left his phone in the living room.
K' came out, drying his hair with a towel. He slumped down on the couch, towel in one hand and his phone in the other. He saw that he had received a new message from an unknown number.
Puzzled, he opened the message and saw that it was a photo. A photo of Krizalid holding Seirah. With. A. Knife.
He dropped the towel in shock and stood up to read the other message, followed by the coordinates of a certain location.
Come to this location if you want her alive.
K' scrambled to his room and got changed. He wore his favourite leather jacket and sunglasses before looking over at Krizalid's side of the room.
"I knew I shouldn't have trusted you," K' said aloud. "How you planned all of this while sharing the same room with me, I don't know."
He rushed downstairs and mounted his bike. He rode off to the coordinates with the help of the GPS on his phone.
K' arrived at a cave and got off his bike. He took his helmet off and stared at the enormous cave before him.
"I'm coming for you, Seirah," K' told himself, entering the cave. "And for you too, Krizalid."
He walked into the cave, expecting to be ambushed by Krizalid or his lame thugs. Little did he know, his clone was practically panicking at what might happen.
K' went into the cave and arrived at a rocky room lit only by flame torches mounted against the walls, creating an eerie glow.
"Where are you, you cheap knock-off?!" K' shouted at the wall in front of him.
"You really want to call me that?" Krizalid's voice echoed out of hidden speakers.
"Where are you?!" K' shouted in anger. "Show me your face, you coward!"
Behind the throne, everyone were listening to what K' was saying. Krizalid was reading through a script that Ralf prepared.
"Oooh that's gonna leave a mark!" Ralf said, smirking. "Say that you're the original."
Krizalid rolled his eyes and turned the mic back on. "I am the original!" Krizalid said with the most villainous voice he could muster.
"Read the script," Ralf whispered.
Krizalid read the script and his eyes grew wide.
"Did you write this for the sake of this surprise, or were you venting?!" Krizalid asked in shock. "Guys, look at this!"
He showed them what Ralf wrote in the script and they saw how lots of insults against K' were written there.
"Just say it, idiot," Ralf said. "It would work."
The urge to kill Ralf grew when Krizalid read it out.
"You're nothing but product of a failed experiment, you artificially made idiot!" Krizalid read. "Do you think NESTS actually wanted you? No. You're nothing but a useless piece of trash. You can't even control your own fire! How lame is that? I am still the best!"
Krizalid finished and glared at Ralf. He owed him big time.
"Ralf..." Krizalid said after he turned the mic off. "I'm gonna burn you alive."
Ralf smirked. K' on the other hand, was enraged.
"Where is Seirah?!?!" K' shouted from the other side. "Don't you dare do anything to her. It's me that you want, not her."
Ralf asked Krizalid to sit on the throne, just like how the tapestry looked.
"Sit with the smuggest face ever," Ralf said with a smirk. "Come on, sit on it. I'll press this button and the wall would turn to face K'."
Krizalid did and Ralf pressed the button.
The wall rotated and he was soon facing K'.
"Well, look who finally showed up," K' said in a sarcastic tone, grimacing at his clone.
The lights became slightly brighter and K' saw the tapestry with Krizalid's picture on it.
"So this is your secret lair," K' said taking a better look around the place. "To think that you shared a room with me... how could you do such a thing?"
Krizalid just shrugged. He had no idea how to reply since it wasn't him that prepared all of this...
"Where is my sister?" K' asked through clenched teeth.
"Whoa chill, she's my sister too," Krizalid said in a relaxed tone. "I wouldn't do anything to her. Unless she pisses me off."
He pressed a button on a small remote. A panel overhead opened, revealing the tied up Seirah on a chair, on the edge. She whimpered pleadingly, angering K' even more.
"Don't worry, Seirah," K' said, looking up at his sister. "I'll get us out of here, I promise."
"Well, that's not happening," Krizalid said. "Because the second I press this button, the platform underneath her will give way and she will fall straight into a pool of acid."
"I don't see any acid there," K' said, crossing his arms.
Krizalid rolled his eyes. Ralf asked him to say that but didn't explain anything about an actual pool of acid.
"It's hidden," Krizalid finally said. "As soon as I press this button, the platform gives way and the acid would rise right there."
K' kept looking up at Seirah. She wanted to break out of this and tell him that this was all fake, but she couldn't since she really was tied up. Well, she actually could break out of the bonds since Leona loosened the rope. But then again, that would ruin the surprise.
"Let her go," K' said firmly. "I'll do anything you say."
"That's more like it," Krizalid said, smirking. "I challenge you to a duel."
"That's it?" K' said with a snort. "Well, bring it on, you beefed up duplicate."
"Now, that's not very nice," Krizalid said, getting into his fighting stance. "Come on."
Out of nowhere, Mechanical Bliss started playing.
'No one told me about this...' Krizalid thought, looking around to find the source of the music. 'Must be that idiot Ralf's idea...'
It was. He was playing the song from the back room.
"Go ahead and try, you putrid clone!" Krizalid said as he watched K' get into his stance.
"Are you serious?" K' said before rolling his head. "Let's do this."
