When we got back to the inn and explained what happened, without the blue flames of course, everyone seemed relieved. The girl who was tricked into carrying the eye was treated and we finished treating the others before returning to the school because all the problems were solved.

Bill convinced me to let him have his cat body back since technically he lost it because the other students do not listen to instructions. He did get a few more restrictions though much to his chagrin.

I got to spend the rest of the summer break solving cases with Lucian and then had to head back to the school. Luckily I was able to convince Mephisto to let me graduate after this year is over so soon enough I will only have to deal with my job as an exorcist and my job as a detective.

A demon attacked the exorcist school while I was on break and we had a birthday party for everyone at the exorcist school. Right after the party we were informed that the monastery that we lived at has been attacked. I grab my things and travel to the monastery right away.

I arrive before my brothers and observe the situation. Most of the people who live here seem to have been hurt but I am not sure how badly because they are wrapped in webs and the building is covered in what seems like massive spider webs. They have demonic aura infused in them so my guess is either a demon that found its way into this plane or possession.

Some writing on the wall makes me think possession though. 'I won't forgive anyone related to Satan.' The writing reads, strangely enough it is in polish. Which was unexpected.

After I finish looking around I go over to the people trapped in webs and try to figure out how to free them. It is at this time that Rin and Yukio arrive. I acknowledge them before getting to my tests. First, I try to break the silk with a regular knife but it is too strong. I then try a blessed blade and it barely makes a dent. The silk was hardened after it dried so likely blades will not work.

Rin and Yukio leave while I keep trying things. Acid does not work because of the demonic aura and neither does regular fire.  Some of the exorcists here try scriptures and those do not work either. I try holy water and it does nothing so after it dries I try lighting holy oil on fire and that burns a few strands but not enough for it to be worth it except as a last resort but there are other things to try.

I try as many things that I can think of that do not involve some type of magic or the blue flames and am only stopped from moving on to those by Rin showing up and using his flames to save the others. I quickly make it so the exorcists that are in the room, that did not already know, cannot say anything about it and then check over the newly freed people.

After I am sure that they are all okay and that my brothers are doing okay as well I head back to the dorms because I am sure that tomorrow will be just as busy.

It turns out that the person who attacked the monastery was actually the wife of one of our old professors. Apparently she was dead but someone brought her back to life but she is possessed by a demon. Yukio was picked up by a man who is apparently our grandfather who seems like a piece of work from what Yukio told me over the phone.

We got called into an emergency meeting at the Vatican and a bunch of the higher ups were removed before being replaced. The paladin has not been announced nor who the Pope that controls all of this is now. I get told to stay behind as everyone leaves before being pulled into a room by Yukio where I find out that the new Pope is our grandfather and Yukio convinced him to make me the new paladin. Yukio ended up as my second in command.

Mephisto got taken into custody so the main school is closed down for now and Yukio was put in charge of the exorcist school. We spend the morning talking to the teachers who seem rather shocked and annoyed about the way things are going and I must say that I feel similar.

Rin talks to Yukio for a little bit and we get called to a meeting. Our grandfather, who does not seem to know who I am to him, tells me and Yukio about his plans. It turns out that he plans to use the exorcists to kill enough demons so that he can get enough blood to open a gate to Gehenna. It was my understanding however that a gate could not be opened without the blood of Satan so he must be hiding something from us.

He also goes on about how he plans to destroy Gehenna and he tells Yukio that the destruction of Gehenna will turn him and Rin human. It does not make any sense however so I get the feeling that he is planning something that will end up hurting my brothers.

The moment that the meeting is over I head to the forest location that we are all supposed to meet at. When Yukio arrives and I make sure that all of our grandfather's men are gone I tell him about what is happening.

"He was lying to us."

"How do you know?"

"First of all, there is no way to destroy Gehenna. It is fundamentally impossible without terrible repercussions on our side of things as Gehenna and Assiah are mirror worlds. Second, the portal will only open with the blood of Satan meaning he plans to use at least one of us to open it. Third, half of our DNA is from Satan so there is no way for us to ever be fully human."

"But he said." Yukio says pitifully.

"I know but just because you want something to be a certain way does not make it so."

"Fine so what should we do?"

"Go with what he is doing until we can figure out what he actually has planned and then we will go from there." I say and he nods seriously before returning to the group.
