Gauri didn't like the look on the stranger's face. More than anything else, it was that fleeting expression of betrayal that pierced her soul, like she had let him down somehow. She quickly rushed from there.

As soon as she was back in her room, she dialed Gaurav's number. It was lucky that he picked up on the first ring.

"Hello? Who is this?" Gaurav asked, suspicious looking at an unknown number.

"Gaurav, listen its me, Gauri." said Gauri.

"Gauri didi..but why are you calling from someone else's phone?" Gaurav asked, now worried.

"Gaurav, listen to me, I don't have time to explain properly, but Maa and I need your help......" said Gauri urgently.

She explained the plan to the child. She knew her young friends well to know that she could rely on them to follow her plan and execute it properly. They were smart, courageous kids, they'll surely help her in her endeavor.

"You got it, right?" asked Gauri, checking to see that door of her room was still locked from inside.

"Yes Gauri didi, don't worry, we'll save your mother, and you. Have faith." Gaurav said with confidence to assure her.

"Faith is all I have." Gauri replied "Okay, just keep me abreast of what's going on, I'll try to hide this phone with me."

Gauri disconnected the call, and breathed a sigh of relief. Help was on the way. Though she knew she was up against the might of the most powerful man in this zila, and the thought scared her, she couldn't fall weak, not now. The time for recovery will come later. Now it was time to fight.

A loud knock brought her out of her thoughts.

Gauri opened the door to find the same ladies from the morning.

"Why did you shut the door from inside?" said one of the ladies suspiciously "In any case, Thakur saab is calling you downstairs. The function is about to start. Let's go."

Gauri saw no point in resisting. She followed the ladies to the hall downstairs. What awaited her, made her stomach churn. It was a pair of large weighing scales.

Of course, how could a sadist like Kali Thakur be satisfied with just marrying her against her will? No, he had to humiliate her further. Gauri knew this was his attempt to break her, to remind her who is the lord here, but Gauri Kumari Ssarma was not going to accept defeat so easily. She gulped as she swallowed her tears. She will bear this humiliation too, but escape from this nightmare, she would.

Omkara was feeling a little more than disappointment. He had decided to stay back in this mansion to investigate the truth, only to find that girl hug Kali Thakur in his room.

She didn't seem to be resisting him. Could she not resist him? Or did she not want to resist him? Omkara's instinct told him that the girl was innocent. But his brain reminded him how few months back he thought Ishana was physically abused but it turned out that she was only narrating a false sob story to con him, by gaining his sympathy. But what would that girl have got by fighting for her shop just yesterday? And effectively selling herself just today? She didn't look like she was forced into it, she didn't look like she was struggling, not in the car, not when she was hugging that evil man.

Was Omkara making the same mistake? Trusting people on face value, only to be betrayed later on. Betrayal, that's what Omkara felt when he saw that girl hugging Kali. How he had always been betrayed by people: Roop bua, Ishana, Riddhima, his dad....he was reminded of all those betrayals. The girl had not betrayed him; she barely knew him, but the puzzle surrounding her put Omkara in a quandary.
