Gauri woke up first, she was enthused about the pooja today. She tried to extricate her hand from Omkaraji's but he seemed unwillingly to give it up, in his sleep. She didn't want to wake him, but...

"Psst..Omkaraji, I have to go" said Gauri softly.

"A little longer" murmured Omkara incoherently, still not awake.

Gauri sighed and gave her hand a tug, to free herself. That woke Omkara up.

"S...orry" he said slowly.

"Its okay, Omkaraji, you go back to sleep, its too early for you anyways" said Gauri, went off to take a bath.

Maybe, but how am I supposed to sleep without your hand holding mine? thought Omkara, and then immediately felt conscious. Never had he been more glad that he had spoken in his mind, and not aloud.

Omkara had always been an advocate of private space and 'clingy' wasn't a word that anyone would associate with him. He was the first one to protest Rudra's overly-tactile nature; he found it awkward. Even with Riddhima, he was as demonstrative as he needed to be, nothing over-the-top. And yet now he had reached a situation where he unconsciously found it hard to contemplate sleeping without Gauri's presence. How had things come to this?

Omkara felt the coming of a panic attack. He took a few breadths to calm himself. No need to worry, there is nothing to worry, or even if there is, he will worry about that later, when they were back in the Oberoi mansion. Right now he will focus on the pooja and fest before him. Yes, Omkara shook his head, and cleared his mind of all the confusion.

Gauri stepped outside the bathroom, after taking a bath, and saw Omkaraji looking strange.

"Omkaraji, is everything fine with you?" she asked concerned.

Omkaraji looked at her strangely, and then said something about taking a bath, and almost ran to the bathroom.

"Whats wrong with him?" said Gauri to herself. Well, she had no time to think of this, she had promised to be at the prayer hall early, to help.

A little while later, Omkara slowly made his way to the prayer hall. He felt acutely embarrassed about his behavior in the morning. He had no business being short with Gauri. She was being nice to him, the whole trip, to the extent of sharing the same bed with him. It was totally his fault.

He didn't understand himself, he would be upset if Gauri didn't share her life with him, and yet he would panic if she did allow him in her private space. What exactly did he want from her? He must apologize to her for behaving like he did in the morning. He was so tensed about his unconscious feelings, when she walked out looking so pretty, with water dripping from her hair, that his heart fluttered, and at the same time, alarm bells started ringing in his brain. His heart was acting involuntarily, outside the control of his brain, and that worried him even more. So, he rushed to the bathroom to control his first impulse; which was to hold her hair between his fingers.

He came back to the present when he saw Mahesh looking at him oddly. "Om, bhaiyaa are you fine? You look lost" he said.

"No, no, I'm fine. Lets go before Dadi finds another opportunity to tut tut over my punctuality" said Omkara.

Mahesh laughed.

Everyone, family, relatives, friends and guests, had assembled in the prayer hall. There were at least a hundred people there, they all couldn't fit in the prayer hall, so some of them were standing in the main hall. Omkara took off his slippers before entering the pooja area.
