Chapter 49

Omkara did not like the sound of this plan. Shivaay called him up secretly this morning, and told him that tomorrow on Sunday, in Priyanka's Sangeet, they were going to trap Mahi, and find out who he was working for.

Before Shivaay could elaborate on the plan further, Omkara said that he had something important to tell him. Omkara narrated the entire story of the accident, from how Priyanka and he thought they had injured a lady, to how they found out that this was an well-thought out, long running plan of Ranveer and Kamini. They also cornered Priyanka somehow, which is why despite knowing that Ranveer had fooled them about the accident, Priyanka was still copping down to his demand to marry him.

There was silence on Shivaay's end for a while. Then he spoke, "Om, you should have come to me sooner. For so many years my brother and sister were struggling with the guilt of a crime they never committed and I didn't even know. You both kept the secret to yourself, tortured yourself slowly on the inside, when you could have come to me, and together we could have figured out a solution to this problem sooner. Never mind, I'll scold you and Prinku later, but I'm glad you told me this before its too late. Now that I have definite proof that Ranveer is a fraud, I think we can help Priyanka get out of this marriage."

"What do you mean Shivaay?" asked Om curious.

"Remember, how I had to tolerate Daksh's insult towards Annika, because he had an hold over me? The truth is that Daksh had Priyanka's pregnancy test results which showed that Priyanka is pregnant with Ranveer's baby. Much as I wanted to break off Prinku's marriage with that family, after finding out that they were mixed with Daksh, I couldn't do that, because of the unborn child. I managed to get the reports from Daksh somehow and send him to jail, but the fact still remained that Prinku had to marry Ranveer because of the child." explained Shivaay.

Omkara was shocked. "But what are we going to do now, Shivaay?" he said blankly.

"Don't you see Om? Earlier I thought Priyanka had made a mistake, though I couldn't believe it of her that she would ever enter into a physical relationship with Ranveer. I didn't like Ranveer, but I had no proof that he was fishy, so no reason to suspect him, or the veracity of those pregnancy reports. But now you have found out that Ranveer and Kamini tricked you all those years back, now we have definite proof that Ranveer is a fraud, a liar. I think he made doubly sure that Priyanka would marry him, first with that accident and second with the baby. If the accident was fabricated, then its possible that the pregnancy is false too. Ranveer might have taken advantage of Priyanka's nervous condition, and made her think that she has been intimate with him. I am convinced that he fooled her about the pregnancy too. But if I ask her directly, then she would get another nervous attack. I will take Annika's help and get Priyanka's pregnancy test done again, and this time, I would be overlooking it. Priyanka must be feeling ashamed to talk to her brothers, but she and Annika have been friends since before, for many years, so she might be comfortable talking to her. Once we have the results, Ranveer's game is up. But Om, this should remain only between us. Don't tell anyone else now, just in case the results are indeed positive, which I highly doubt. Om, don't worry, you did half the work by proving Ranveer a fraud, and I'll take up the rest from here. We won't let anything happen to our sister." Shivaay exhaled after talking for so long.

Omkara agreed with the plan. He was convinced too, that a man who could run a con for years about that accident, would have surely tricked Priyanka into thinking that she is pregnant. They'll find out by today, maximum, by tomorrow, and tomorrow in front of everybody at Sangeet, Priyanka would free herself from Ranveer's evil clutches.

"But what about Mahi, Shivaay?" asked Om, thinking of the other problem they had.

"Oh don't worry about him, I have the perfect plan to trap him, and get him discreetly carted off by the police, so that no one outside finds out that a son of Oberoi family was replaced for almost a week by a duplicate, that won't be good press for our business." said Shivaay.
