Annika and Gauri were engulfed in a hug the moment they entered the mansion. Dadi was overjoyed to see them back.

"Arey Dadi, we had gone for only one, no half a day" said Gauri, smiling slightly, extricating herself. Annika still held onto Dadi, both of them crying.

Jahnvi grasped Gauri's hands. "I am so, so, sorry beta. I and Rudra heard everything from Khanna, who was filled in by Shivaay. It is terrible that you both had to witness such ugliness at such a young age" whispered Jahnvi, pulling Gauri aside a little.

Gauri couldn't choke up words to express herself, but she would never stop thanking Shankarji for sending someone like Jahnvi Maaji in her life, the most important thing for her was Gauri's feelings, even over the crisis the entire family was thrown in.

"Let us all sit down and talk" said Shivaay, and he looked at Annika's Mamu, unsure whether the latter would consent after the drama yesterday.

But Jahnvi took the decision out of his hands as she invited him inside.

Between themselves, Annika, Gauri, Shivaay and Rudra figured out everything that happened twenty five years ago. Everyone was feeling sympathetic to how Annika and Gauri lost their father, and couldn't even be there at his funeral rites.

"I am sorry, Annika beta, Gauri beta" said Dadi folding her hands. "My daughter, Roop, was always an envious sort, but that she could have the murder of your father on her hands.....you both lost everything because of my daughter, who was my family, how can I ever apologize?"

"No, no Dadi" said Annika holding her hands, and lowering them. "You don't have to apologize for that woman. Clearly, you recognized her for what she was too, thats why you broke all relations with her. That she would take her revenge in this manner, no one would have thought."

Gauri nodded her head, in agreement.

"You both are kind and forgiving, many wouldn't have" said Dadi, apologetic.

"I can't believe so much happened in one day. Just yesterday night we were at the party, and today everything is clear before us" said Rudra, sounding amazed.

Rudra's remarks as usual, lightened the atmosphere.

"But I still need to know two things. Where is this husband of Roop bua's? And how did she manage all that she did from outside? I mean, breaching Oberoi security in yesterday's party was no easy task. But we can find answers to these questions only when we find her. I have set my men on the task. Bade Papa, we have a meeting with the Police Commissioner in the evening, to discuss this case. Annika, Gauri already filed an FIR at the Thane police station, so I don't think they'll be need again this evening. I think you both should rest now" said Shivaay.

Though Shivaay's manner was mild, there was something off about his tone, thought Gauri. She saw a strained look pass between her sister and brother-in-law. What was the matter?

"Thats good, Shivaay. I think we all should rest now, its almost evening. And I need to get out of this suit. It shall forever remind me of prison now" said Tej, while others laughed thinking of their debacle with Inspector Taadka.

Dadi invited Dharesh to stay over at the Oberoi mansion, with his nieces for the weekend, instead of going back to the guest house.

She wanted to establish good relations with her granddaughters natal family. He agreed, more out of respect for Dadi's age than anything.

Annika and Gauri didn't realize how the time passed, as they sat with their uncle reliving all the good moments, those little moments they had, going through the photographs and some diary entries of their father which their great uncle, Kushal Trivedi, had managed to save from the burnt house, and preserve for his nephew's daughters, for he was convinced that they would come looking for them someday.
