Chapter 34

Omkara was at another of those never-ending ceremonies for Priyanka's wedding. He was not interested to really attend this farce of a wedding, especially when his sister looked more like a goat who was being fed to be sacrificed in due time. Omkara wondered why no one was seeing  Prinku's suppressed anxiety over this wedding. But then maybe they saw it too, but Prinku refused all their concern, like she refused his. Still he had come here to talk to his sister, so he sought her. 

"Prinku, listen, come here, we need to talk." said Omkara urgently. Prinku excused herself, and they went to her room. Omkara shut the door and said. "Listen Prinku, I know he is blackmailing you for this wedding. Anyone can look at your face and see for themselves that you are being coerced into it. But Prinku think of it, we both think we caused that accident and that lady relapsing into coma, but what if that accident was not what it seemed to be? Don't you think its coincidental that Shivaay and Annika bhaabhi's enemy, the one who tried to kill her last year, Daksh, turns out to be Kamini aunty's cousin of all people? I mean, what are the odds? There is definitely something shady going on." said Omkara, trying to convince Prinku. 

She looked at him, wide-eyed, with the cogs in her brain working. Emboldened by this, Omkara continued, "Also, we never saw the face of the lady we hit, never found her on the road or bridge, and years later she turns up as Ranveer's sister? Ranveer, who already had an axe to grind against Shivaay, becasue Shivaay escaped lightly from the charge of being Gayatri's murderer? Did you see the face of the lady clearly, when you went to Ranveer's house, the lady you thought was Ranveer's comatose sister?" 

"No....I didn't, Om bhaiyaa." said Priyanka, looking hopeful, but then the light flickered out from her eyes. "It doesn't matter bhaiyaa, even if Ranveer framed us in this accident, I still have to get married to him, there is no other option." said Priyanka miserably, and she exited the room before Omkara could ask her what happened. 

What other sword was Ranveer hanging over Prinku's head? Did he have anything else to blackmail her with, except for the accident? Omkara racked his brains, and then it came to him. That video. 

How he could forget? Just a couple of months back, someone had texted him a MMS clip of Prinku, when she had gone for her college outdoor retreat. Someone had made a disgusting clip of her changing clothes, and blackmailed Omkara with it, asking him to come to this remote cottage in the outskirts of the city. Omkara, had gone there to retrieve the clip, but what happened after that, he hardly remembered. He came to know later that it was all Svetlana's plan to lure him to the cottage, so that she could make a damaging video of him, forcing himself on her. She accused him in front of the entire family, and Omkara had to keep quiet because opening his mouth would mean telling them why he went to the cottage in the first place, putting Prinku in trouble. 

Did Ranveer get hold of that video somehow and was blackmailing Prinku with it? If so, it would make sense why Prinku was not telling anyone about it, because she felt ashamed to admit it. No, Omkara would have to figure out what is going on. 

All this was too much. Ranveer, Svetlana, Daksh, all these people were interconnected in a confusing manner and it looked really bad for the Oberoi family. Omkara clutched his head, he could feel a headache coming.

Rudy was very happy. The reason of his happiness was clear. Shivaay bhaiyaa had officially accepted Annika bhaabhi as his wife, in front of the entire world. Also, as he had guessed, Daksh had some hold over Shivaay, but it looks like Shivaay bhaiyaa found a way around it, and now thankfully Daksh was on his way to prison again. The only thing bothering Rudy, was that Shivaay bhaiyaa had still not called off Prinku's impending wedding with Ranveer. It was obvious to everyone that she was not happy about it, but both Prinku and Shivaay bhaiyaa kept mum about why they were agreeing to this wedding. In any case, apart from his brother's happiness, what doubled Rudy's joy, was that today both Om and Soumya decided to attend the ceremony too. He was happy to see his brother, though Om didn't smile like before, but Rudy could still feel the warmth in him.
