" I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion."
- Alexander the Great

Levin POV

The groceries in my hand were light and I swung them about, bored with walking everywhere. The cold was starting to turn warm as Spring began, and I couldn't see my breath in the air anymore.

I liked this time of year, everything is blooming and kids are running about, playing. Teens go on vacations and trips, parties that their not allowed to go to. Parents and adults go on dates and plan get togethers. Normal stuff.

But for a ghoul...

It's still the same thing over and over, survive and survive. We aren't allowed to live. Only allowed to survive. The two statements are different if you think about it.

I sigh and scratch my head, trying to ignore my frustration and focus on getting home. The air smell likes blossoming flowers... and...

I open my eyes suddenly and sniff the air again, it held a tinge of... smoke? I tilt my head in confusion and check all of the houses around me, at their chimneys, making sure none of them were on and I was just smelling a normal furnace.

But as I scanned, I see Smoke in the distance. I flinch, thinking it has to suck for the guys who's house burnt down. Then something snapped in my head, making me go into a cold sweat.

That direction of the fire... it's to my apartment.

I dropped my groceries and sprinted down the street, people looking in the air at the smoke, wondering what was going on. I turn the corner and make a sharp turn, almost tripping keeping my balance.

I stop at the boarding house and stare at the engulfed flames of the building. In front of the complex stands a black car and two figures. One of them is a tall man, wearing a black jacket and has long black hair. His dull eyes are boring to look at.

The man next to him I recognize in a heart beat. His hair might have been in a wig back then, but that pale skin and that scythe I would know. I take a step back as he slowly spots me and a smile creeps up on his face.

"Ooh! There he is! I told you he wasn't inside the apartment, Hanbee!" He complained to his subordinate.

Hanbee, the tall and lean man, bit his lip as he caught glimpse of me. "I'll think more hard next time, Captain." He said with a stern voice.

I take another step back and glare at Juuzo, who is still smiling that rape face at me, sending a chill down my spine. "Is Kurona with you? I wanna see her really bad since I saw her at the auction! It was really exciting!" He said with glee.

Something tears at my chest, and I find my fists clenched in rage. My glare became more intense and Hanbee took a step back seeing this. "M-Maybe we should avoid this one, Captain." He said, worried.

Juuzo just laughed. "Your funny Hanbee! C'mon, he's not that tough." He said with a blank face, readying his scythe. "I suppose I was lucky to be put on this investigation! Eh, Crow?!"

He yelled as he ran at me, I ducked, dodging his first blow. My eyes turned red, and my kagune appeared, pushing his scythe out of the way and with my other talon, trying for a slash.

Juuzo's other hand when to his pocket and out he pulled a knife, barely blocking my other limb. We're in a locked position, if I just put some force on my kagune, he'll be finished!

I feel a sudden jab of pain in my lower back of my hip, I scream and let go, finding my hip stabbed with a quinque. Hanbee was behind me, backing off from a quick jab at me.

"Are you alright, Captain?" Asked Hanbee.

Juuzo smiled, giving him a thumbs up. "I'm fine, nice job, Hanbee!" He said as he jumped into the air and slashed downwards at me with tremendous force, making me slam into the ground.

I cough blood as he cuts off one of my kagune, I make my other talon push off the ground, spiraling me to kick him in the face. He seems surprised, as I land and hit him in the face again with my fist.

He takes out a knife as I throw another punch, and stabs me in the arm, twisting it behind me. I scream as he laughs. "Got you~!"

I grit my teeth, no way I can win against him, even if I get him in a tight spot, this Hanbee guy finds an opening. My only option right now is to run!

Is that really okay? I hear a voice linger in my head.

I flinch as I find myself in a plain white room, facing another me. I looked at the ground, trying to ignore him. He smirked, walking around me. C'mon, Levin. Think about it... if you don't take care of him now, he'll hunt your friends. Vincent... Kurona... C'mon... Accept it.

"Shut up." I said in my mind at him, but it seems like Human pitched in too.

I hate to admit it... but he is right. If we don't fight, we'll die, and so will the ones we care about. Human said as he crossed his arms, looking a bit scared.

I grit my teeth hard until it feels like they'll break. Then I nod slowly, making Ghoul smile and human sigh hopelessly. The vision fades and I find myself flat on the ground, Juuzo standing on my chest aiming his scythe at my neck.

"Check mate! Dirty Ghoul!" He said with a smirk.

I have a blank face on as I sigh. "You... don't know anything about me." I said, suddenly another kagune coming from near my shoulder coming out and slashing away his scythe very quickly.

He looks stunned for a moment, but I then jab into his stomach, my kagune going straight through him. He stares with a blunt look at my kagune inside his stomach, he doesn't even flinch.

"Is that my blood?" He asked to no one in particular.

A kagune soon masks my face in the shape of a crow and my body is covered by a huge mass. Wings Shepard wide and my talons aimed at him, Juuzo looked still blunt at me as I pulled out my kagune.

"Do... you like bad ends?" I said in a scraggly voice, sounding demonic.

Juuzo tilts his head in confusion as I suddenly slam him away, into a wall. Hanbee takes a shaking step back as he stares at me, then runs to his subordinate to care for him.

"Captain, are you alright?" He asked Juuzo, who still looked at me with a blank look.

"You look like something... I hate." He said, grabbed his scythe off the ground. When his face emerged upwards, all that paved it was pure hate.

"Bad end? Bad end? Bad bad bad bad?... C-Crow.... B-Black... and... White..." I said as my mind was elsewhere, a thousand miles deep in darkness. I clawed at my masked face as I rushed at Juuzo.
