Kaneki POV

I snapped out of my frozen state and stood my ground, glaring down at my old friends. Akira stood in the middle of them, no doubt their new leader.

Akira bit her lip. "Let us past, Haise." She said.

I stood there for a moment, then looked down at my right hand, and snapped my index finger. "I can't do that."

They recognized me even though I'm wearing a mask? Somehow I feel a bit disappointed in this meeting. Seeing Akira filled me with a disgusting feeling.

"And what are you doing here, Akira?" I asked, looked up at her while squinting, scanning her movements.

She glared back. "That should be obvious." She mumbled, then held out her hand. "Haise, you can still come back, Arima and me will make sure you-"

"Don't screw with me!" I screamed, causing them all to take a step back or freeze from surprise. I point at Akira with an opposing aura.

"Don't act like your my mother." I said with a dark voice. "Y'know what I found out from the files I stole after leaving? That Arima ordered you to act like a mother figure to me.

"Humanity is a poison, and Ghouls are just adding fuel to the fire. Humans just can't stand not being at the top of the food chain, can they? And to think I used to be one. I was born a human, and changed by a human.

"Don't spout nonsense about me being this... Sasaki Haise. My name is Kaneki Ken. Say that name again..." I trailed off, then looked up at them with a blank face.

"And I'll make you regret it."

Urie spoke up. "So... you can't let us past, no matter what?" He asked. "Are you going to kill us if we try?"

For a moment I don't say anything; but I run a hand through my hair, and speak. "No. I won't kill you." I said with a dark voice.

I snap another finger and aim my kagune in their direction. "I'll half kill you."

Rize POV

Being the one that had to look after everyone in the middle of the mansion until there was a way out, was quite boring. I was hoping to be able to fight and get some stress out, I hadn't fought in awhile.

I stretch and yawn, adjusting my mask a bit. I hate wearing this thing, but Levin said I should. He doesn't want the CCG to have any steps to linking my identity to the Binge Eater.

Mirumo stood next to me, looking up at one of the windows with a blank look. He seemed to just go along with our plan, but did he have one in mind by himself?

I turn my attention to the doors opening. The back doors opened to show Levin and Nashiro, seemingly have taken care of the back. "Should we move now?" I asked.

The back was now clear to move, now would be the obvious choice to flee.

Levin shook his head. "No. They'll know that's our only way out, we need to wait until another side is clear so they have to make a gamble on which side to send the most troops." He explained, while walking through the group of people and maids, to Mirumo.

"Are your people ready to move?" He asked him.

Mirumo nodded. "Yes."

"I can't guarantee any of your survival, so if your threatened, fight." Levin said, calling out to everyone. Now that I think about it, he seems so much more like a leader ever since he came back. I wonder what triggered that?
