Levin POV

I checked the time on my watch. I still had time after talking to Eto, so now... I have to talk to someone else I've been itching to talk to. I'm just glad that he actually answered my call.

The old broken down, building, two floors. I haven't been here in a while. I stop by the entrance because something catches my eye and I kneel down and wipe a sign, the black burn marks on it cleaned off quickly.

I squint to read the sign. "Anteiku?" I murmured what I read on the sign and then looked back at the burnt down building. I suppose... that's this places name.

But why haven't anyone cleared it for extra room for new buildings? But I have to say... even this wreckage, I felt a odd sense of security when I stood in front of it. I frown as I walk into the entrance and into the old counter looking area.

Now that you think about it...

"This used to be a nice cafe." A voice said, standing behind the counter was old man Owl, or Yoshimura. I sit down on one of the stools and sigh.

"This place used to be your home or something?" I asked, wiping the soot off the counter a bit. This place was real old.

Yoshimura smiled. "Yes. Anteiku was a meeting place for ghouls to socialize. Kind of like your Nest, except they hold different meanings." He explained.

I nodded, looking at the coffee he was brewing. He always seemed to have stuff to make coffee with him.

He handed me a cup and I sipped it, saying a silent thank you before I did so. Yoshimura waited for me to finish my drink, and then he spoke.

"So, what did you want me for?" He asked with a kind smile.

A grim look went over me and I looked down at the counter. "I think... I'm going to war with Aogiri soon." I said.

Yoshimura's smile didn't waver, surprisingly. "Your saying you'll have to kill? I thought you were against killing." He said.

"Things change." I said simply.

"Indeed." He said, sipping his coffee as I did so also. We were silent for awhile, then I sighed and ran my hand through my hair.

"I... don't know what to do. I mean, I'm serious about this, going to war. But... what if I don't want to kill certain people?" I asked with a frown.

Yoshimura smiled. "It's usual to have regrets about things. Trust me... did you know, that someone I hold dear is in Aogiri? Well... not really holding dear... but I wish I could." He said, as if talking to himself.

We're both silent again, he didn't want to finish, and he didn't have to. If whoever he was talking about got in my way, I would have to do what I have to.

"What... does it mean to be a living being." I asked.

Yoshimura rubbed his chin in thought, then smiled. "I think that's a question I shouldn't answer for you, but you should find the answer yourself." He said.

"How can I find an answer so important?" I asked, looking down at my hanging feet from the seat I was in.

Yoshimura sighed and walked to the back exit, to the inner parts of the building. "Follow me. I want to give you something." He said.

I nodded and placed my cup down, walking with him to an empty room. Looking at a place that used to be like Nest... it's kind of sad. I just don't know what would happen if that happened to me and my home.

As he shuffled through some things, he revealed a beautifully blue designed teacup. I slowly took it from his wrinkly hands and he smiled warmly.

"Ahh. I think I can finally move on now. I want you to take this teacup, and keep it safe." He said slowly and happily.

"B-But it seems important to you-!" I started.

"Please." He said.

We were both silent, but in the end, I slowly took the teacup fully into my hands and traced my finger along the slim edge. This teacup had such a history, it'd been through so much.

I was going to say something, but as I looked up to speak to him...

He had disappeared.

I never saw Yoshimura again.
