"Hope is but the dream of those who wake."
- Matthew Prior

Riki POV

I couldn't feel my chest as I tried to breath in oxygen. My lungs had tooken such a large blow that my vision blurred. I looked up at the man who was shaking his head.

Furuta stood there, a kagune coming from his back. He smiled down at me, lying against the wall. "Ah, you made me use it. How interesting." He mumbled.

"Y-Your a half ghoul..." I muttered in surprise, still trying to get it through my head. I thought he was just part of the Washu clan, not a half ghoul. This makes no sense.

Furuta smiled. "Looks like I'm done here, I heard it snap. Don't worry, little boy, I will not hurt your friends... right now at least." He said, turning to leave.

"Wait!" I called out, gasping in breaths of air as my lungs became active once again. My legs were sliced up, and I was unable to get up on my feet.

"T-That's Rizes kagune!" I exclaimed.

"Yes! Isn't it wonderful? Her kagune really is powerful, isn't it?" He said, kissing a tendril and giggling like a school girl. Talk about disgusting.

He sees my face and puts his hands on his hips. "We're you thinking something like, weird or disgusting?" He asked.

Well now he can read minds, I thought with a small grin. My legs were beginning to regenerate. I have no chance against this guy, I need to escape through the disposal unit with the others.

"I don't think it's disgusting." He muttered. Then he turned on his heels and began exiting.

"I don't get you." I said, pushing myself up against the wall. Furuta turned his glance towards me a bit, stopping to listen to what I had to say.

"Your not with V, CCG, or the Washu... just what are you up to?" I asked. No one knew that Furuta was a half ghoul, not even the Washu or V... yet he's appointed in both.

Furuta waved his hands about. "Its quite obvious and simple, little boy." He said. Suddenly he turned sharply and faced me, making a peace sign with his hand.

"Super peace."

He turned on his heels once more and walked off, leaving me with the feeling as if I was just trolled big time. He said it with such a straight face though... what the hell is with him? I shake it out of my head and look towards the way to the exit.

Time to get out of here.

Kaneki POV

I stood back up, and let a smile go to my face. I didn't know why I was smiling, really. I was in danger still, I shouldn't be smiling. But I couldn't help it.

Arima still gave me that blank look.

Why didn't he finish me off while I was down? He could've easily tooken me out. He could have easily ended it.

But he didn't.

I let my Kakuja grow around my arms and the rest of my body, forming a shielded body around me.

"So... you've decided to fight again?" Arima said, his blank stare holding me in place, never leaving my eyes. He readied his quinque, and held it with both hands.

I can win if I make use of his weakness. That's right, everyone in this world has a weakness, even the God of death himself.

"Yes." I answered shortly, then pushed myself off, running to his side. Arima's eyes followed my every movement, watching me closely.
