Vincent POV

I landed a bit right in his hand against a wall, pinning him. He laughed as he lunged forward with his other arm, his kagune nearly piercing me in the stomach, missing me by inches.

I jump back, Shuu keeps laughing, a huge grin on his face. "I thought you were going serious, Vin-kun~!" He said as he ran toward me and I jumped out of the way.

I backed into a door, I flinch, there's no way to dodge the next attack, I have to take it! I make my needles cover my front as he slams me through the door with a loud crash. Outside there is a group of maids, all their kakugan out and ready to help their master.

But just as their about to attack, Shuu yells at them. "Stand back, my lovelies! I shall take care of this man myself!" He charged at me, cutting my thigh a bit as I slammed him square in the face with one of my limbs.

Shuu didnt seem to care, he slashed again, this time stabbing me in the shoulder. "Oh my! Your a bit rusty, Vin-kun!" He yelled.

I dodge his next attack just barely again, it slashed past my head, I heard a short whip sound, like a thin pole being whipped around you that it makes noise.

I jump down the stairs, and bite my lip, damn, now he has the high ground. Shuu smiled as he started down the stairs calmly. "Tell me, Vin-kun, why did you help Levin?" He asked, rubbing his chin with his free hand.

I tense. "N-No reason. He just didn't deserve being locked up." I said a bit too quickly.

Shuu laugh, his hand over his face like I was too ugly to look at. Damn this French bastard! He's messing with me, don't let it get to your head. I shook it off and clenched my thigh, focus on survival, Vincent!

"Vin!" I heard a yell from across the large room. I turn to see Levin, his right side of his neck covered in blood, and only wear pants and shoes, no shirt. Kurona and Rize are close behind him. Looks like Kurona got him.

Levin caught sight of Shuu, and instantly, his pupils on his eyes turned the color of crimson blood. His kakugan might look a bit different, but is still looks weird to me.

Levin was about to rush forward, but Rize poked him, pointing out the window. I didn't notice before but... over the sound of pitter from the rain, there's a faint sound of... a helicopter?

I take a step towards the window and see it overhead. The large Blackhawk looked like CCG to me. I clench my hands and turn to Shuu.

"Looks like we showed too much attention, Gourmet." I said, using his alias since we never knew if the CCG would be listening through doors and windows.

Shuu laughed. "I wouldn't have it any other way!" He said as he ran forward, and made a stab motion at me, which made me jump down another flight of stairs, onto ground floor.

Levin's kagune came out, two red talons. He jumped down near Shuu and instantly hit him, sending him into a wall. Levin held out his hand to me.

"C'mon! We're getting the hell outta here!" He yelled over the Blackhawk wings. The helicopter had landed, letting out CCG operatives.

They surrounded the front door with no hesitation, which we were right in front of. Levin put on his mask, and shoved a makeshift one on me. He flipped a switch, turning on his voice filter. Why does his get the cool stuff?

He stood in front of the door. "Go, take Yasu and Rize. I'll hold them back." He said with a dark tone.

I couldn't see his facial expression. But i could tell he was being deathly serious. Shuu was getting back up, a wound on his head but he didn't seem to care much. "Splendid! You amaze me with your strength, Crow-kun." He said Levin's alias with a smirk as he placed his mask also on his face.

Levin clenched his hands, pointing at the back window.

"Go! Now!" He yelled at me. I thought i was supposed to be the one giving orders. I grit my teeth and grab Kurona by the shoulder, practically dragging her out, Rize was already gone.

Standing there, only his pants on and covered in blood, Levin looked like a real feral ghoul. Which scared me. That kid was such a kind being that when i first met him, I thought he wouldn't hurt a fly. But when me and Kurona got caught, he apparently killed one or two people.

Everyone gets a side they don't want to show. The reason Levin made me leave with the others...

Is because he doesn't want us to see his other side.

Levin POV

"It'll be any moment before they break down that door, Crow-kun." Said Shuu, his smile under his mask wide and amused.

I stared at the door, my thoughts racing through my mind like I was on steroids. Voices in my head fought for attention.

"Do it! Let me out! It's the only way!" Ghoul yelled, talking for the first time in awhile.

Human grunted with frustration. "Damn, hes right, it's the only way! We have to let him have control!"

No, I cant do that. I thought, biting my lip.

"Whaddya me 'you can't'? Of course you can! Give me control!" He yelled at me, making me shiver with fear.

Am I afraid of myself? The thought made me confused. I shake my head still denying them, ignoring them as I hear more movement outside the door, their getting ready to breach.

"How about this? I won't kill anyone, will you at least let me have some fun?" He asked pleadingly.

I flinch. If he didn't kill anyone, then maybe it would be okay to let him out, right? I look at my hands, their shaking. Maybe i am afraid of what I might do. But that can be overlooked just this once, right?

I bite my lip and grunt. Fine. No killing, I'll let you in. I said in my thoughts.

In my head, ghoul smiled a grin that spread to each ear, his eyes going full kakugan. He started to stretch, as if getting ready to run a marathon. He then stopped and had a serious face on.

"Before I go. I still want my answer." He said with a dark voice.

Answer?

He smirked. "Who are you?"

Thought this time i didn't have enough time to answer, because my normal conscious was thrown deep within the depths with my human self. And I felt a cold feeling of anger and despair wash over me as my body smiled, me yet not me at the same time.
