Shikamarus pov
The doctor left, leaving just me and neji. Neji stared at me with those large frightened eyes. I sighed. He's no longer the neji I fell in love with but that doesn't change how I feel about him.
I will save him no matter what!
I sat opposite him. He backed away nervously.
"please" I held out my hand to him. He stared at me for a moment because hesitantly taking it.
I rubbed circles in his hand with my thumb. It seemed to relax him.
"listen baby I know it's scary not remembering things but I promise I'm on your side"
"that's what the guys who saved my life said but they ended up taking advantage of me" he pulled his hand away as his eyes teared up slightly "how do I know your any different"
Without a word I pulled out a photo me and neji took on our first date. I remember how happy we were just sitting on the park bench eating ice-cream together.
"I've been holding onto this photo ever since you disappeared" I said firmly "You are so important to me neji. I would never hurt you"
He clutched his head in pain. Is he remembering something? I gently pulled him into my chest as I rubbed circles into his back. He groaned into my shoulder. I kissed the top of his head lovingly.
"I'm here love" I muttered softly into his ear "I'm right here and I'll never leave your side again"
