"We must unite together against terror!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The alarms, the sirens, the shouts and the screams.
The cries, the clatters, the crashes and beams.

This night has to be the worst.

A bomb went off in a football stadium.
Currently, workers, volunteers and the players are helping those who got caught up in it.

As I look around at the thousands of helpless survivors, I feel tears prick in my eyes.
These people have suffered too much.

Some have had their life taken away.

I'm handing out blankets to victims, it's late and cold.
The only thing keeping me from breaking down is the vast amount of authorities here.

I have to be strong in order to help.
I have to be.

The sound of walls cracking brings my attention to the ruined building.
People are being pulled out of rubble and I don't have the power to keep looking.

Why do people commit these atrocities?

"My baby!"
I hear a trembling female voice.

A mother runs to a stretcher, sobbing helplessly.
"No my baby! Bring her back! Bring her back!"

She caresses a little girl in her arms, blood staining her dirty clothes.
I choke and press my hand firmly to my mouth.

"I-i need a minute."
I tell another volunteer and rush away.

I get to a more secluded alleyway, still close to the disaster.
I heave breathlessly, trying to get the image out of my head.

I curse myself, I can't be like this.
I am not the one who has suffered.

"Hey."

I gasp at a figure in the dark, he had a green visor on.
I wipe my tears away despite knowing he's already seen my vulnerability.

"I'm sorry, I-I'll get back to helping people."
I try to walk past him quickly.

He grabs my arm and pulls me back, making us look at each other in the eye.
He looks cold and calculating, yet I feel like I see sorrow in him.

Of course he would, no one can truly be okay tonight.

"It's okay, just... take your time."
He lets go of me and hands me a water bottle.

"T-thank you..."
I bow my head for gratitude and take a sip, not realising how dry my throat had got.

"I'm sorry, I'm being such a mess when I should be comforting the ones actually in the incident."
He shook his head and gave a small smile.

"We're all hurt and need help. We can get through this together."
I nod and we both agree to get back and help everyone.

He ingrained a little speck of hope in me and that was enough to motivate me.
We can get through this.

•••••••

A week has passed.
The city is... not in the best state right now.

We're rebuilding our hope.
We are all helping each other for the best.

Right now, hundreds of people at the city square.
The mayor wants to give a speech.

There was a spot where people would put flowers and signs of love.
They honoured the fallen and weeped for them.

I place a bouquet of tulips, daisies and white roses alongside the vast amount of others.
A tear falls from my cheek inevitably, before I quickly walk away.

I notice that cameras are everywhere, capturing the weakened.
A commotion is near the steps of the city hall: the mayor is here.

He spoke clearly, giving words of sympathy, of fear, of anger.
But mostly, resilience.

"We must unite together against terror!"

His convicting voice boomed throughout the square and everyone showed their agreement
I smiled at the fighting spirit within these hurt people.

"Well, you're looking much better than last time."
A familiar voice addressed me and I couldn't hold my happiness back when I saw him.

"Hi again and yes I'm feeling... better. You?"
He chuckled.

"Better too, my name is Yoongi by the way."
He stretched out his hand for me to shake.

"Y/N, nice to meet you."
I shook his hand politely, "Thank you for that night... it helped more than you know."

He brushed it off.
"No, that was you having the courage and strength. I just... guided you?"

We laughed quietly to ourselves, sharing looks of admiration and care.
We were overlooked by the hundreds of citizens ready to work.

We'll get through it together.
We'll become stronger together.

The End ♥️
