Y/N has walls up. Stone walls. Impenetrable walls. She works hard, she doesn't let people in easily and she's a badass. Hoseok's Queen.

Hoseok is hardworking too; a hottie with a piercing gaze. Unlike Y/N, he's also very affectionate. He gives her so much love, that she often gets flustered (an image that is rarely seen, even by her best friends).

Maybe that's why her past relationships haven't worked. They've had mutual attractions and lots of passion, but she was never able to show her true self behind the walls. She has thick armour to all. A result of being hurt and having nothing when she was young.

Hoseok sees that and is respectful, understanding that it's automatic for her. He hopes he can reach her through the walls or, even better, that he can stand with her when she has all the armour down. He loves her too much to let go.

One day, due to his busy schedule, he isn't able to text Y/N all day. It shouldn't be a big deal to her. After all, he's a successful business. He'll text her back when he gets the chance.

It is a very, very big deal.

She's concerned. She's getting these ideas that maybe he's ignoring her. Maybe he doesn't like her anymore. Maybe he's found someone else. Somebody better than her.

Then, she worries about something else: why does she care so much? She had never felt like this before with any other guy, so why him?

It takes a few deep breaths and steadier thinking to realise that, she loves him. She adores him way more than any man she ever has been with. He makes her happy and to have that all taken away would be devastating. This personal epiphany doesn't stop her from overthinking though.

All that relaxes her, is the fact that they have a date the next day. He would never bail out on her, so they are definitely still meeting up.

Guess I'll have to see tomorrow.

She's sitting on the sofa with Hoseok, in his strong arms as her head rests on his chest. Nothing was wrong. Her initial thought about him being busy was right.

Yet, it was still picking at her conscience.

"Babe? I have to share something with you." She begins the conversation, her voice an octave higher than what she would've preferred.

"Yeah, sure. What's up?" He answers, giving her a casual smile. Y/N slowly, but surely, informs him of what she had felt like yesterday. She would stumble on her words (something she never did) and have this pressure weighing down on her body. Hoseok's soft touches reassured her to continue without thinking that she was being crazy.

Finishing with, "I want you so much that it's actually scary." She waits for his answer, expecting him to laugh in her face and say sike yeah I don't like you bye— okay maybe not that.

What she wasn't expecting, was for him to call her cute and lather her cheeks in kisses. "H-Hoseok! Not funny," she exclaims sternly.

Hoseok chuckles, before looking deeply into her eyes. "I'm being serious though. It is cute. And, I'm sorry you felt that way, I would never mean it. Thank you for telling me, I'll just be even more affectionate now." He presses a light kiss to her temple, squeezing her hand tight.

"Yeah yeah, not too much," she states dismissively but is unable to hide a wide grin. Hoseok laughs and kisses her cheek again, making Y/N giggle. It's at this point that she knows, she's comfortable with him.

Sure, it'll take a while before she can open her arms wide and drop down all her defences, but she's actually getting there. Hoseok's overjoyed because she's shown him that she actually wants him to stay in her life.

She's shown him a crack in her armour which hides the darkness within. The soft side, the scared side, the vulnerable side. When people see a confident woman, he'll get the girl who needs a shoulder to cry on every once in a while.

He doesn't mind being that shoulder for her.
