Prompt:
(Y/N) and Hardcase are in a pretty serious relationship, to the point where the Clone intends to propose. When an attack on Felucia goes wrong, Hardcase will have to come to the realization that he may have been too late.

"Hopefully we are done with this whole thing soon," the voice of Fives said while leaning against one of the ship's sides, "We have been on Felucia for what seems like years now. I can't wait to go back and sleep in my own barrack."

You were the only Jedi that the Clones felt comfortable enough to vent to like this. Even with Anakin Skywalker, their General, the Clones would remain professional and loyal. With you, it was a different story:
They all somehow figured out that you and Hardcase were seeing each other, and that opened a door for them. Now, they treat you like family, and you were beyond happy that the Clones were respectful and accepting of yours and Hardcase's relationship. It meant so much that none of them had the intentions to report you to the Jedi Council... that would ruin everything.

You laughed and leaned up against Hardcase, who was busy rewiring some kind of com link for Captain Rex, "Me too, Fives. It will feel so nice to be able to sleep in my room against instead of mildew-scented sleeping bags."

Hardcase yawned, his work beginning to influence his waking hours. It was getting late for sure, and the patrols hadn't reported any Separatist movement lately. Knowing this, you stood up and cleared your throat, "I know I'm not General Skywalker, but I think it's safe enough to call it a day. Echo and his patrol haven't reported any droid movements, and I can see you're all tired. Let's go to bed."

The 501st troops that were nearby all grunted in satisfaction. You loved to see them happy, and you knew a good night sleep would do the trick. However, you couldn't help but feel bad about the Clones on watch duty. Maybe you could take their duty... just for tonight.
As if your boyfriend could sense what you were thinking, he pushed his com link into his pocket and materialized by your side,
"I'll help you do watch."

"Number one, how did you know I was thinking about doing watch for the Clones? And number two, you're the reason I dismissed the battalion for the night. You're exhausted," you replied while pressing a kiss to his cheek, "I appreciate the thought, though."

Hardcase chuckled at your questions; blushing from the sudden kiss, "I tend to know you better than you know yourself (Y/N). And I have been more sleep deprived than this, you also know that. Please let me sit watch with you. It's not that I don't trust you, but I would feel better if I was by your side."

"I will be fine, honey," you whispered while pressing another kiss to his perfect nose, then to his lips, "You need the sleep. Next time I cover watch, I'll let you sit with me."

Hardcase knew it was unlikely that you would ever cover watch again. The only reason you got away with it now was because Anakin didn't care, and there were no other Jedi around to witness it. You liked to do nice things for the Clones, so you had to sometimes take advantage of moments like this where the coast was clear.
You just wished you could do it more often without the worry that you'll get in trouble for it by the Jedi.

Hardcase lowered his shoulders and sighed, "I know I can never win an argument against you. You win. I'll see you in the morning then."
He sadly kissed your lips and leaned his forehead against yours. As Hardcase walked away, you couldn't help but feel bad for refusing his help, but he needed the sleep. It would be better for him in the long run if he got his sleep, as it would be better for everyone in the 501st battalion.
