Narrator pov

Azir: It was a little bit over a 1000 years ago when the man you know as Yoriichi Tsugikuni was born. Hailing from the country of Targon, he was born from the loveless marriage of a warrior swords woman and a man of riches. He found peace and solitude in nothing more than resting amongst the small flowers of his mother's garden and playing games with the neighborhood children.

Y/N: So many small details, how do you know of all this?

Azir held up a small book. It was tattered and ruined as the contents were in language you hadn't known before.

Azir: He wrote this before he died, it is a story of his life and all the poems he wrote from many centuries ago. It is ruined now, and I had to use everything in my power to get it translated.

Y/N: I see. Please continue.

Azir: He was forced to train with his mother, despite neither one of them wanting this path. Although he was hesitant, he was a true warrior with the blade. Not a single student could match his ferocity with the blade. Except for one.

Taliyah: One?

Azir: There was and is only one other person who could match his skill with the blade. Michikatsu...

Y/N: Michikatsu?

Azir: He was a friend of his for many years, when he saw him playing and training with the sword one day, he took up the blade as well. They both trained hard and became something more. Some say that it was sheer luck, others say that it was hard work. However, no person besides him and Michikatsu ever got to this level of swordsmanship.

Kai'Sa: Are you saying that something helped them?

Azir: It was the gods, we already know this. The mark on his face, in which he was born with. It gifted him this strength, even though his mother never had it.

Y/N: Like me?

Azir:... Let me finish. They both grew up together, and eventually Michikatsu lost both his parents to a war in Targon. Thus, Yoriichi gave him his family name, despite not being blood related.

Y/N: Michikatsu Tsugikuni. That feels so weird...

Azir: As they both continued to train, Michikatsu decided to climb the mountain. Mount Targon.

Y/N: Why would he do something like that?

Taliyah: Do you not know? Mount Targon is home to these aspects, they say that climbing it is the most difficult thing to do. Some even say that while climbing to the top that you meet your greatest fear.

Y/N: I've already faced my greatest fear, so climbing it should be easy for me!

Taliyah: Maybe... But even so, why would he do something like that?

Azir: The journal never said, it only talks about his own ideas, and not even. Yoriichi was a very secluded person, he did not speak nor write much about himself.

Nasus: It is quite interesting. One would think that a man of his power, with the capability of splitting mountains, would be a little bit more confident in his own skill. However, this journal speaks very lightly.

Y/N: He could split mountains?!

Nasus: As much as I would like to exaggerate that, I could not. Maybe now you realize just how powerful that technique of his, truly was.

Y/N: I see...

Azir: After he climbed Mount Targon, he did not return for many years, this was the period in which Yoriichi traveled the world. He created the breathing technique through the unique wind patterns of Ionia's, Targon's and Shurima's magic. This took 32 years to learn.
