I was standing on a sidewalk, cars passing by. I looked up and saw Joe standing in front of a coffee shop. He looked at me and smiled. My mouth was closed but I heard myself yelling something. It repeated a few times before I finally figured out what it was that I was saying.

"Keys!"

I heard a second voice telling us to go. Then it felt like someone pushed fast forward and dragged Joe and me together.

The second we were in front of each other, we wrapped our arms around each other and pressed our lips together. As our lips moved in sync, the world spun around us.

Suddenly, the environment changed.

Joe and I were now in the middle of set. We were talking but it was like someone had put us on mute. Joe leaned down and pressed his lips delicately to mine.

Suddenly, the environment changed. Again.

Glass broke.

It felt like we were flying.

That flying feeling soon turned into falling. Then pain washed over me, making it hard to breathe.

I woke with a start. I looked around, my head spinning from what I had just seen. I tried to wrap my head around my dream, but I couldn't.

"Y/N?"

I jumped, suddenly remembering that Joe had stayed over. He ran into my room and sat on the edge of my bed as I tried to put my thoughts together.

"Are you okay?" He whispered as he gently put his hand on top of mine.

"I just. . . I thought. . . It can't be."

"What do you mean?" Joe asked gently. "What can't be, Y/N?"

"My dream," I stuttered.

"What about it?" He asked as he reached up and gently moved some hair out of my face. "What did you dream about?"

"The accident?" I said, unsure. "I think it was the accident. I'm not sure."

"How about you tell me about your dream and I'll let you know whether or not it's what happened?" Joe offered as he gently squeezed my hand.

"We were on a motorcycle," I started shakily. "But suddenly, we started falling. And then pain. . . So much pain. . ."

"Y/N," he said gently.

"Is that what happened?" I asked, my voice breaking.

"You and Ryan were doing the big stunt," Joe started to explain. "You guys jumped out of the building on a motorcycle, then jumped onto a hang glider. But when you guys grabbed onto the hang glider, it broke."

"Weren't we wearing safety harnesses?" I asked under my breath.

"You were," Joe said, clearing his throat. "But yours broke and you fell."

"Did we kiss?" I asked, cutting him off. I looked up at Joe's expression to see that my question had caught him off guard.

"We did," he said, his voice dropping. "Before the accident, we rehearsed Millie's and Keys' final scene."

"There was another kiss," I said slowly. I took a shaky breath as my eyes filled with tears. "I can't remember."

"Y/N. . ."

"What am I supposed to do, Joe?" I asked, my voice breaking. "I can't remember anything, and I've been trying. I swear, Joe. I've been racking my brain, trying to remember something–anything–and I've got nothing."

"I think I have an idea," he said under his breath.

"Really?" I asked, trying not to get my hopes up.

"It's kinda crazy," he hesitated, "but it might help."

"Let's try it," I sighed. "I want to remember everything."

I gasped when Joe cut me off by leaning in and pressing his lips to mine. I instantly started kissing him back. As our lips moved in sync, Joe scooted closer to me.

We broke the kiss before either one of us could get too carried away. We leaned back, breathing heavily as we caught our breaths.

"You kissed me after we rehearsed our last scene," I whispered. "We both agreed that it felt real. Before we could talk about it, I had to film the end of the fight scene where Ryan and I jump from the motorcycle to the hang glider."

"You remember," Joe chuckled.

"I do," I said, my face burning. Joe reached up and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, his hand lingering on my face.

He leaned in and pressed his lips back to mine. I smiled, instantly kissing him back. As our lips moved in sync, Joe slowly laid us down.

"Joe," I whispered the second we pulled apart. That space didn't last long. We instantly leaned back in and started moving our lips in sync. Joe broke the kiss and started kissing my neck.

"I know I'm new to all of this," I gasped, "but I'm not sure if we're allowed to do this."

"I know Shawn," Joe whispered against my jawline. "I also know that they don't care if we date as long as it doesn't distract us."

Joe sat up on his elbow, hovering over me, and smiled. "Besides," he chuckled, "our characters are best friends who are secretly in love. It'll help us sell the bit."

I laughed as I gently grabbed Joe's face and brought his lips down to mine. We pulled apart, looking into each other's eyes.

"Y/N," Joe whispered, his voice giving me goosebumps. "Can I take you to dinner?"

I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I held in my moan as I pulled him down to me.

"I'd like that."
