Relationship rule number one: do not give much attention to a guy unless you're sure he likes you and deserves your attention.
I totally understand how you must be feeling, but here's the thing: if he likes you and wants to date you, he's gonna work for it. If he doesn't, you should save your precious time and precious feelings, so when the right time and the right one comes, it will all fall in place.
