I awoke the next morning at exactly eight in the morning by Melody pawing at my cheek. I opened my eyes to see that she was now sniffing my face. I pushed her away and covered my face with my arm before I rolled over and covered my head with my blanket. This time she began to claw at the blanket, pulling it back and uncovering my head.

"What do you want? It's not time to feed you just yet." I said quietly to Melody as I pulled the blanket back up. She pulled the blanket back again and bit my ear. I shot up as I rubbed my ear, "The hell's that for?!" I hissed. She jumped down and sat on my hero costumes hoodie. "I'm supposed to-" I smacked my fist to my forehead upon remembering that I'm supposed to go on duty today at noon, so I wouldn't be able to meet up with Toshinori for lunch. I pulled my phone off of its charger so I could text him.

Me: Hey, I forgot that I have to go on patrol at noon, so would breakfast work?

He didn't reply back right away, so I figured that I could get up already and change into my hero costume since I was wide awake now. I got out of bed and shooed Melody off of my hoodie so I could pick it up since it was on the floor somehow. I used a lint roller on it before I brought it down to the bathroom to change and get ready. Just as I finished working with my hair, my phone went off.

Toshi: That sounds fine to me. What time would work for you?

Me: We could meet at nine-ish?

Toshi: Alright, I'll make my way there. See you then.

I walked out of the bathroom and went to put on my shoes. Just as I bent over to put on the first shoe, I noticed that no one else was up. I stood back up and went to my room to grab a piece of paper and a pencil so I could write a note, updating them of my new plans.

I forgot that I have hero duty from now on, so I won't be back till nine tonight. I left early so I could meet up with Toshinori for breakfast instead of lunch. See you guys later.

I left the note on the dining table since I figured that they would see it there. I then went to put on my shoes. As I stood back up from tying my boots, Melody took a seat on the bottom step. "Take care of them while I'm out." I whispered with a smile to her. I could have sworn that she nodded her head after I told her that. She then walked off the stairs and out of the entryway, making me turn around to see where she was going. She went and sat in front of their room door as if she was some vicious guard dog. I shook my head as I turned around and left the apartment, locking the door behind me. It was cool-ish since it was earlier in the morning, which I thought was nice, so I walked to the little cafe. When I walked in and looked around for Toshi, I saw that he just sat down as I looked in his direction. I then walked over to the table in the corner and took a seat.

"You got here with perfect timing." he said with a smile.

I responded as I took the menu from the side of the table, "I know right."

Just then the waiter came over, "Hello, what would you like to order this morning?"

"I'll have a coffee." ordered Toshi.

I put the menu back as I ordered, "I'll have a raspberry tea."

"Sounds good, I'll be right back." the waiter said with a smile. We watched the waiter leave out of ear shot before we started talking.

"I just noticed your eye; is it always going to have that red hue to it?" Toshi asked.

I shrugged, "I'm not sure, but it doesn't matter to me as long as I can see."

"That's true I suppose."

"So, how have you been doing? I noticed that you have less bandages than the last time that I saw you." I said.
