Once Saturday rolled around, the three of us went to go pick up Eri to bring her to the apartment. When we got to the hospital, I lingered a couple yards behind them since I was in quite low spirits. I mean, I'm always down in the dumps, but ever since the culture festival, I've been in a horrible state. It's like my body can handle only so much happiness or allow me to feel so much. It's like it's rejecting the feeling that I long to feel as if one were to be sick after eating something that their body didn't accept. Anyway, when we got to her hospital room door, Aizawa and Yamada waited to knock on the door so I could catch up ever so slowly. When I caught up with them, I tried to put on a smile, but it didn't stay for long or for how long as I wanted to keep it. It was like my body wouldn't even accept a smile during that rough duration of time.

"C'mon, Y/N," Yamada said in a happy tone with a smile as he patted my back, "slap that smile back on!"

I tried to smile again, but it only stayed for three seconds, five at most, before it faded away. It honestly hurt to smile. Once it went away, I couldn't help but sigh at the wasted pain and effort.

This time Aizawa was the one to punch my shoulder, "Let's keep it up for a few minutes at least."

Though I wanted to at least try and sound remotely happy, I replied in a more dead tone than what I expected, "Yeah."

Since Aizawa was the one who was assigned to watch Eri, he knocked on the door and led us in while I still lingered behind them, closing the door behind myself and the other two. Aizawa started talking to her as I slowly joined them. Once I walked out from behind Yamada and Aiawa, I noticed that Eri's face lit up. I knew that I should smile and look presentable rather than standing there, looking as if I could kill someone if they were to breathe wrong. Though I don't like using quirks to mess with my expressions, I settled with using one to help keep a smile on my face for a longer time than a couple seconds.

I activated the quirk as I said with the fake smile, "Ready to go?"

She quickly grabbed the bunny that I generated and jumped out of bed. "Let's go!"

Since she's warmed up to Aizawa, she took his hand and pretty much pulled him to the door. Yamada and I followed behind them as we both wore smiles, though mine started to fade away again. Who knew that a quirk that's supposed to make me smile would fade away too. As I followed them back to the car, I continued a few paces behind them again. At one point Eri stopped and let go of Aizawa's hand so she could run back to me and grab mine to pull me to the rest of them. I activated the smiling quirk again so I wouldn't look so dead.

When we got back to the car, I sat behind the passenger seat while Eri sat behind the driver's seat. I could tell that she was excited to be leaving the hospital, yet she was a little weary of living somewhere different for a little while. She watched out the window as we went down the streets while I sat there looking down at my feet as I gently rubbed my left arm, trying to minimize the stinging that arose from the overlapping new cuts. I'm sure that some are the deepest they've ever been since lots were cut twice; so with the first one being fairly deep already, the second time was just about two times deeper. Every once in a while I would notice that Eri would look over to me, but I would throw a smile to make everything seem alright.

Once we made it back to the apartment, I got out once the two up front got out, which then Eri got out after me. I walked over to her side of the car and walked to the door with her. Aizawa and Yamada were waiting at the door for us. I could tell that she was a little reluctant to enter the apartment since she was almost shuffling her feet. When we made it to the door, she stopped and held on even tighter to the rabbit that I had generated a while ago. I put my hand on her back gently as I said, "It's alright, there's nothing to be afraid of. Nothing will jump out, not even the cat."
