Chapter 188: Don't get him involved!

Normal POV:

I opened my eyes after I passed out from the pain that I was enduring. I looked around to see that I was in the same location that I had been ever since I was caught. I could tell that they covered me in water again since as I moved about, ice would crack and fall off of me. I was so cold that I almost began to despise the cold. I was so hungry and tired too. I began to hear footsteps getting closer to the room that I was trapped in. The grey haired man walked around the corner and wore a smile as he had his hands behind his back. He stopped walking once he was within arms reach of me. He held out my phone to show that I had a new text, but he pretty much just flashed it to me so I wasn't able to read who it was from or what it said.

He looked at my phone as he said, "You got a new text from someone else. Are you curious who it's from?" I didn't move. "It's from someone named Chi and there's a heart by their name! I take it that it's someone special? Anyways they said: I finally get a break after working non-stop for three weeks on this new invention! What's happened in the past three weeks since we haven't been able to talk?"

'Chikao?!'

"Don't hurt him! Don't even think about it! Hell, don't even get him involved!" I thrashed about in the chair as I tried to yell though it came out as an airy whisper.

"What? Why not? If the person's texting you first, then they are of some importance to you; and from seeing how you reacted, I take it that it's really important." he said with a mischievous grin. "Let's make a video for this one all on it's own! A special video for a special person!" He then tapped a few things on my phone before he backed up a few paces and said, "Alright, say something for this special person."

I looked to my phone that he was holding, "Don't pay this any mind! Concentrate on what you're doing in the lab! I have this under control, so don't panic! I may look like I'm in pain, but I'm not, so don't worry!" I said frantically, trying to yell.

"Oh, don't you want to say something like 'I love you' or 'If I die...'?" the grey haired man asked quietly.

I sighed and tried to consider it before I said, "If something happens to me, just know that I wish I was able to see what the future had in store for us and that I'm with you no matter what."

The man then dropped the phone with a smile and tucked it in his pocket, "Wonderful! How sweet! I'll send it to the person right away!" his smile dropped instantly before he said in a low tone, "Now, you need to get punished for trying to raise your voice at me." he then whistled again and the muscular man walked in.

I closed my eyes as I prayed that the grim reaper would take me already. I'm not a religious person, but whoever heard my wish, I hoped that it would come true.

Chikao's POV:

I was taking a nap when I was woken up by my alarm. I had set it to go off at eight in the morning since I was supposed to be back in the lab the next day. I was sent home early the day before since the program had to download into the invention, which took a while. I got out of bed as I put my glasses on and threw on different clothes before I ran a comb through my hair and pretty much ran to the lab. As soon as I made it into the doors, Professor Shield just walked out.

"Good morning, Chikao. I'm glad to see that you ran all the way here to work some more, but it's not even ten percent of the way done downloading." he said.

I looked down as I wondered what went wrong, "I'm sure that I calculated it right that the prototype would download within twelve hours...it's been well over that..."

He chuckled as he patted my back, "Don't worry, sometimes it takes longer to install the program than what is figured. We'll see if it works when it's done. So until then, take a break or maybe even visit your family. I'm sure that at this rate, it'll take a couple days. You deserve a break after working for three weeks non-stop."
