What is the ultimate goal in a relationship? How can you distinguish a good relationship from a bad one? How can you say that two people have chemistry?

A relationship was something about giving and taking. Though it was way more than that. It was about staying together. Not because you could give or take something but because there was this person you loved. This person you cherished. This person you enjoyed being with. A nice atmosphere.

You were with the person because you loved them not because you two had chemistry. You were with the person because it was THAT person. And that person only existed once in the world. Of course some relationships break but it still will be the only person like that you will have an relationship with. There is only one you and one her and one him and one them if you are non-binary. The person you are with is special and so are you. Unique. Even though some people have strong quirks like combining food with similar colors.

Being in a relationship meant trust. Trust was inevitable. Of course small issues would always occur but in general a big secret would be safe with them. A big secret that could hurt you would be kept like a treasure by them. They would never betray you, at least not if it wasn't for your own good. Or at least Jōno wouldn't even blink but betray Suehiro if it meant saving his life.

The two of them had known each other for quite long. They were colleagues. They became lovers. It was as if the level of trust had risen to an uncountable amount. Jōno trusted Suehiro with his life when they were colleagues. He had trust in his skills and in his comradeship. But now? Now he had trust in Suehiro himself. He would tell him anything. Relieving his emotional baggage. Deepening the bond, trusting that the other one would not judge the own opinion. Judging important and deep subjects that is. Not whether you should wear socks in bed or whether you shouldn't.

The two of them were sitting on the couch. Or at least Jōno was sitting like a normal human being. Did everyone else just flock themselves on the Sofa like Suehiro did? The other member of the hunting dogs was laying comfortably on the rest of the sofa while using his boyfriends lap as a pillow.

Suehiro noticed the other ones judging look: "What is it?"

"Is everyone sitting so sloppily like you?"

"I've sat worse. And yes because it's comfortable."

Jōno frowned. "Comfortable? It will destroy your back nonetheless. Also I won't let you tell me what is comfortable. You trained all day yesterday in the middle of a meeting. How can you still be comfortable without you muscles aching like crazy?"

"Well Tachihara wanted to know whether I could to 69420 sit-ups", Suehiro shrugged while eating some chocolate brownies Jōno had baked. At least brownie and chocolate worked together with their similar color. It also made Suehiro happy so why not. Another relaxing change was the slight smell of the baked goods lingering in the air for days. Nothing was better than arriving at home within the smell of good sweets. Whether it's cake, brownies or other stuff.

On the other hand was Jōno devasted. He just annoyed him with his sit-ups the whole day because Tachihara made a joke? How oblivious could you be... though it was also a cute side to Suehiro he had to admit. "You did 69420 sit-ups just for that?".

"Yep".

"You're an idiot".

"I'm your idiot", Suehiro smiled while munching his brownie. Jōno only sighed in response though that was only an excuse to hide his blush. Which Suehiro obviously directly saw with his good eyes.

"How come I'm attracted to you again?".

"Because I'm well trained with a good personality? Because I am a kind soul? Because I have annoyed you so much that your sadistic tendencies want to punish me?", Suehiro guessed while reaching out to play with one of Jōno's strands of hair.

That made Suehiro remember that one time he braided his boyfriends hair. Jōno had been very exhausted and just slept the whole day. After all the training Suehiro then had nothing to do anymore. And since his boyfriends company was lovely and he was more an active person and less a reading person he decided to braid some strands of Jōno's hair. Said one realized it easily when getting ready for the next day though.

Unfortunately for Jōno that he was blind though. He missed exactly one braided strand of hair right in the front of his face. Suehiro had the chance to look at this adorable sight for the whole meetings. And interrogations of criminals. Some people were laughing about it since a braided strand of hair wasn't very intimidating when playing the bad cop in an interrogation. Still Suehiro couldn't behold of the cuteness. As Jōno later found out he had scolded Suehiro a lot but it was so worth it.

"Your heartbeat got quicker", Jōno remarked to which Suehiro only shrugged. "Did you remember something funny?", this time the white haired hunting dog had a kind yet at the same time threatening smile.

"Braid."

"Please not again", Jōno sighed and blushed a little. He still seemed quite embarrassed about the situation. Quite a weird reaction if you thing that the leader Fukuchi could just vomit in front of two officials due to a hangover without being embarrassed in the slightest. Jōno had always been careful about his image...

"Tetchō?", Jōno looked into the distance while calling his lover by his first name. A sign that he wanted to ask something serious this time.

Suehiro looked up: "Yes?".

"What if the detective agency truly is not at fault like Tachihara said. Why would the mafia support them to destroy the whole city?", Jōno seemed lost in thoughts. It was a thought that became more frequent nowadays. It was a terrifying thought.

"Some of them seem ok to me. Though a terrorist is a terrorist".

"But what if they are NOT? Why would a great mind like Dazai Osamu let himself get caught? How come the records were found right BEFORE the incident? What if we are wrong?", Jōno seemed even more concerned now. This was not a simple idea but a never ending doubt. This was not a question like 'What do you want for dinner?'. This was pure doubt. Pure doubt towards the political system, their entire existence. Whether they really performed justice.

"Then we have to watch out whether it truly is all a lie. Whether we have lived a lie and then find the true master mind", Suehiro also stopped. If this assumption was true then both of them had to apologize a lot. And he knew how Jōno disliked apologizing. Still whatever the future held for them they could face it together. A small spot of hope in the uncertainness.

This thought, this conversation, their doubt. It was a pure concentration of trust. Telling your colleague, your lover about the deepest and darkest part in your heart was something not everyone could do. It was a beautiful form of love.
