Ranpoe - I love you

"I love you"

"Eh?!" The tall shy man looked up all shocked. He than turned red like a potato. Or like Atsushi losing a leg and almost dying... again.

"I love you!", the small detective continued. He was sitting upside down on the sofa.

If you though Poe couldn't blush more than you were wrong. His whole face was tinted in a dark red at the three little words that made him react so much.

"...Do you want me to give you some sweets...?", the tall man questioned helplessly.

The small detective just huffed grabbing a bag of chips from the table and turning his back to Poe. Oh no he seemed angry. Even though Ranpo had noodle arms and couldn't do you any physical harm he was very dangerous. With his mind he could defeat literally anyone. He could set traps catching rats and outwitting them. He even got Poes masterpiece done in just a few pages.

Poe felt of course inferior and jealous of this mind. However he also admired it. It even flattered him that Ranpo chose to be his boyfriend even though he could get anyone.

He once voiced out those thoughts towards his panda eyes bros Katai and Ango. "Yeah but he's an egoistic asshole who insults everyone being nothing but selfish", was what Ango said between taking a sip of his tomato juice. Katai agreed in silence.

Poe could only agree to some parts. Yes Ranpo was a selfish little prick but they didn't get to see the sweet sides from him either. Like when he was so happy about eating some snacks Poe bought him. He was literally beaming the whole week. They didn't know when Ranpo was too shy to say something when Poe seemed to be completely absorbed in writing. Or when he fell asleep waiting for the writer to finish so they could eat together.

Poe thought he was lucky. He felt so happy with Ranpo that he could overlook all of the small detectives flaws.

His pen started scratching over the paper again leaving a black trail of ink behind. The ink slightly glittering in the light that was reaching through the curtains into the room filled with papers leaving a golden trail behind. It was beautiful as if time had stopped. Poe felt his sense for time slipping away being exchanged with creativity and too much ideas to fill on all the papers he had on his desk right now.

"Done!", the tall man exclaimed after a little while.

One glance at the clock told him that it wasn't just a little while. One loud growl from his tummy made this even more clear. He looked over to the sofa seeing that his little boyfriend had vanished. Poe couldn't help but feel sad. "Ranpo had work he had to go to", he tried to reason with himself.

Yawning the young writer stepped into the kitchen and took out some cereals. Like it was the most normal thing to do he put down a bowl getting out some milk. He opened the milk and poured it into the bowl he then grabbed the cereals and poured them in next.

A horrific order indeed. However it was just to funny since Ranpo was so horrified and disgusted by this order. The best reaction so far came from Kunikida. The disappointment from a mother mixed with the horrified face of someone who had seen the devil himself.

Smiling to himself he took a straw and finishing his breakfast smoothie. Slurping the cereals he got into the living room.

After a few minutes the cereal was empty and he slurped the little rest of the cereals. Oh man Ranpo would be so angry and proud at the same time.

The couch was a bit small for the tall bean sprout but he laid down anyway. It would have been a bother to find the bedroom in his gigantic house anyway. He dozed off feeling how tiered he really was. Ah the healthy sleeping schedule of a social anxious introvert.

When he woke up he felt something tickling his nose. Poe was used to it since it was probably Karl sleeping right next to his face that little sneaky racoon. His mouth formed a slight and sleepy smile as he opened his eyes slightly only to-

Get a gigantic heart attack. There was by no means Karl next to him. It was no one other than his boyfriend Ranpo snuggled onto his chest. Poe could feel his face heat up again. It should be forbidden to be so cute. He was just glad that the small detective didn't see his blush because he would definitely joke about it all day long...

"Ah you're awake", the small detective smiled a sheepish grin eyes closed as usual. Damn that made it so hard to see whether he was awake or not.

At the sight of Ranpo looking at him he felt even more blood rush into his cheeks.

"Don't scare me so much Ranpo-san!"

"But we're boyfriends love", the small detective chuckled supporting his head with his hand while looking at his boyfriend.

"H-h-how was work?", Poe tried to avert the attention. He could have sworn the brunette frowned a bit.

"As usual. Solved some cases. Did some funny things with Dazai and Yosano. The usual you know", the brunette said smiling.

"T-t-t-then I will make something to eat, y-y-you must b-be hungry", Poe said nervously. He just wanted to leave this position because he felt like he looked really embarrassing with his blush.

"You look cute", the small detective said neutrally.

"Stop concluding what I think!"

"But it's fun since you are very smart! And you are cute!"

"Please don't joke around with that", the tall man sighed and tried to get up. Just as he was about to get up he felt his clothes being pulled back.

"Please Ranpo-san I-" Poe stopped in the middle of his sentence. His greyish orbs looked into emerald green ones.

"Do you not love me?"

"W-w-what?!" Poe gasped out blushing even more.

"You don't want to cuddle! You don't want to go on a date! You don't even say that you love me!", his eyes were wide open no smile to be seen "It feels more like a one sided love you know..."

If you looked closely you could see a small blush on the detectives cheeks.

Ango was wrong. Ranpo had his cute sides too. The side when he was anxious even though he could conclude anything. The thought of being wrong, of Poe not loving him. Even the smallest possibility seemed to frighten him.

Poe walked back to the couch wrapping his arms around the small fragile body of his boyfriend.

"I love you" he quietly hummed.
