Hudson's First Halloween (Quicketh + fam)

"Noah, I picked up Hudson's costume." Quinn called. "Come see him."

Puck hurried down the stairs with Max at his side, slowing down when he reached the den.

"What do you think?" Quinn asked with a smile as she, Judy, and Beth looked at Puck. "I thought it'd be cute for him to dress like his dad for his first Halloween."

"No, he's not wearing that." Puck shook his head as he looked at the baby military costume on his son. "Take it off of him."

Quinn's smile faded, and she looked at Puck. "It's just a costume. I thought you'd like it."

Puck shook his head. "Take it off."

"Okay." Quinn said. "Go take Max for a walk."

"Fine." Puck responded as he walked away.

"Beth, why don't you go put your costume on to show Daddy when he gets back?" Quinn suggested when Puck had left with Max.

"Okay!" Beth exclaimed, and the eight-year-old ran off.

"What was that about?" Judy asked.

"I don't know." Quinn shrugged.

"I'll change him." Judy offered. "Why don't you wait for Noah to come back?"

"Okay." Quinn nodded. "Thanks."

Judy picked up the baby and walked away with him.

Puck returned shortly after.

"Hey." Puck said softly.

"Hey." Quinn repeated. "Better?"

Puck nodded slowly. "I'm sorry."

"What's wrong with the costume?" Quinn asked.

"I don't want any of our kids joining the military." Puck stated. "I don't want them getting fucked up like me."

"Noah, you're not fucked up." Quinn replied. "And it's just a costume. Hudson's not even gonna remember that he wore it."

"I don't want them getting any ideas about it." Puck added. "Ever. And I know that doesn't make sense to you, but-"

"We can get him a new costume." Quinn interrupted. "You can pick one out, okay?"

"Okay." Puck said. "Thanks."

Quinn nodded.

"And, Q, I'm sorry." Puck apologized.

"It's just a costume." Quinn said. "I'll return it. He can wear something else."
